I am a little confused by the Schleich website as under Toys > World of smurfs I can see the smurfs that are also in the Collectors Items section. Is it just me who is confused?

Nope, I don´t get it either, if those are the ones going off or staying on... :-?
There are those who believe that life here began out there...

Thanks Maureen,

it seems they removed all the zodiac smurfs and the Olympic smurf.

And also only the displaysets for the Movie smurfs( 1 and 2).

The moviesmurfs will still be sold as regular smurfs? :-?

I assume some of the removed smurfs will be very rare in the future. They were only sold for a short time, right?
André

In Sweden the smurfs are blue ( and yellow).

The ones Schleich calls Collectors items are removed from production and will not be manufactured anymore.

So all smurfs shown on the link Maureen showed will not be manufactured anymore, except the moviesmurfs. i assume it is only the displaysets that will be removed. :D All the 12 moviesmurfs will still be sold as regular smurfs? :-? :D

Thanks for posting this news. I really like the Olympic Smurfs and am surprised these ones have been selected.

Thanks for posting the link Maureen :-D

22 smurfs being removed plus the box sets. That's a lot of smurfs being discontinued. Mind you, didn't we have 2 new sets last year, the regular ones plus the new movie smurfs? I suppose that evens things out a bit.

The Zodiac Smurfs will still be available in the display 20899 (12*3) for at least 2014.

Thanks for the info.

But they are not in the 2014 Schleich catalogue, so they are not manufactured anymore. Is that correct? :D

The display is in the big retailer catalogue. I am not sure about the collector's booklet. There are still some loose smurfs left, but if they are not enough for the required displays, the single smurfs will be produced again.

I believe what is significant is that the number of Smurfs is being reduced to 43.
