Thank you for the images.
They already knew smurfs. I have these images from Estonia and Letonia comics from 2001 (Smurfid and Ruki Rezgaini).
Maybe they were not successful...

That`s very nice to see!
This was my first visit to Estonia, and I suppose they have more scandinavian ( finnish) influences overthere, so smurfs might be known?

However, in Riga, 2 years ago, no one knew what I meant when I searched for smurfs. I had taken a smurf with me to show, but people in the toyshops had no idea and in Lithuania, Vilnius and Kaunas, certainly no one had ever heard of them.

Great that you had a wonderful smurfy holiday, Lia. Manni has been to Tallinn in the mid 1990's and loved it as well I have been fascinated by the Batic countries as well and yep the Estonian language reminds me of Finnish.
