Tis the season to find smurfs again on flea markets  Dyar and I went smurf hunting yesterday and came up with quite a few smurfy items. I noticed that 3 different sellers have a huge stock of old keychains too :-? I will have to post a nice addition we found also - it's a lover keychain with the yellow bit in the middle of the flowers unpainted.

Did you get any of the keychains? I might have to ask you to go back for a certain TennesseeMo :winks:

Glad to hear you were successful, I have the feeling this is a good year for smurf collectors doing some flear marketing

Yup, the ones in the photo below.

They also had these keychains:
Baseball Batter
American Football
Smurfette Soccer
Superman
Rollerskater Smurfette
Secretary
Papa w/ Lab Glasses
Grouchy
Ballerina
Present (2.0086)

All smurfy finds - I also got a ceramic pig and a cow parade cow that didn't make it into this photo

Those are fantastic finds Staci, especially the paint error keychain :D

That large smurf is cool. Was he a shampoo bottle or something in his earlier life?

wow, nice finds at the fleamarket! I'm guessing with the smurfs back in toy shops a lot of people are probably finding there old smurfs and selling them.

Awwww you found wonderful items on the fleamarket. :smitten: :D Btw. is Dyar on permanent vacation in the States?

Postby SmurfingH » Mon Jun 08, 2009 5:20 am
I think, as Syd's keeper, Dyar is just on permanent vacation! :) :) :o

Love your items there Stace. I've only got 2 keyring smurfs, both of which can be found here http://www.buddyblue.co.uk/keyringsmurfs.html so feel free to buy me as many presents as you like! :winks: :-D

Great finds, makes you wonder if sellers are digging through there boxes for those forgoten smurfs now that they are hot again. Where the prices good or did the sellers think they where sitting on gold mines?

I think it might be something like this smurf bank :D

Actually the big smurf is a heavy ceramic homemade bank. The one Moey showed is plastic but the same basic shape. Now I have two of these guys but I like the new one so much better.
The other one:

Here's one I found on ebay that you can paint yourself:

I have to agree with Hilary, Dominique :) He comes and goes a lot so I guess it's not a permanent vacation except in his head :-D
