Just wanted to warn everyone that there are some paypal thieves about. I bought a smurf on ebay on friday and on monday had my account hacked and £305 stolen from my account :banghead: :( :???:

Just letting everyone know to regularly change thier passwords and keep a close eye on thier accounts :D
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

That`s a nightmare Steve :(
Could Paypal see that it was hacked and did they refund the money?

I`ve had a lot of fraudulous mails from people who wanted to hack my Paypalaccount, but luckily without success.
However, my Ebayaccount was hacked twice, once by someone from Spain, who changed the name, therefor this crazy name still can be seen in the history and worse....once by criminals in France who tried to sell a stolen car in my name:-(((((
It took a long time before all was solved.

I hope, you didn`t loose a penny!

Hi Steve,

What cheek.
I hope you get your money back! I have seen recently also a television report about them, how the hackers work and that Paypal is not totally clear, in terms such crimes.

That's a lot of money

Out of curiosity...did you have the money on your paypal account or did they have access to our Credit Card and/or bank account thru paypal?

Thanks everyone, I am happy to say I got the money refunded today. I still have no clue as to how they got into my account..It's quite scary to think that someone a million miles away from you can get into your account and take money from your bank via paypal.

Since changing the password and re-gaining control of my account I have had several 'emails' from paypal asking me to re-affirm my details..needless to say I have ignored them and sent them to fraud at paypal :???:
