In the upcoming months I will be selling my collection. I have been collecting since 1981, and buying on eBay since 1999. I need to sort through my shelves and displays and go through my files to see what I payed for some of these items, others I bought as they were released in the 80's. That is why I have multiples of some of the more sought after Smurfs and Playsets.

I was wondering if I could get some opinions as to the value of these rare items? I have over 400 photos and my collection is well over 9,000 figures and accessories. I know I'm leaving a lot unmentioned but here is a starter list as I work through my unique displays.

Fake Prototype Smurfs (3) no Stocking

I Love NY Smurfs (2 variations)

BASF Smurfs w/different color tags

GB Smurf

McDonald's Pirates, Knights, & Soccer Smurfs

Spanish Bullfighter Smurfs (including Bull)

Smurf Collector Club Smurfs w/certificates

All documents from the club (80's thru end)

A few Smurf Moon Playsets and moon display

Variations of Smurf Houses (licensed and unlicensed)

Fafnir Dragons (2 variations)

Red Cross Smurfs w/paperwork

School Cone Smurfs (various colors)

Omo Soap Smurfs

Signholder Smurfs w/ Promo Signs

Jubilee Smurfs (in package)

Philips Light Bulb Smurfs (2 variations)

Thirsty Smurfs (Coke, Fanta, Fachlinger)

Fake Smurfs

Custom Made Smurfs

Smurf Holding Gargamel in a Box (3)

Smurf Mugs (60 variations)

Thanks for your interest and help, Jim

Hi

A shame you are selling after so many years of collecting.
Personaly I think it’s not a good time to sell with this crisis,
but if you have to……………
The prices always has gone up or down so it’s hard to say.
9000 is really a big collection and you have some special items.
Any way good luck !!!

Hi Jim; I hope everything is alright with you. I would be intrested is the in the collectors club Smurfs. I'm actually intrested in a lot of things you listed but can't afford everything. Not sure I can afford the SCCI Smurfs depends on what you want and how many you have. I just bought a house last week so it's taking a lot of my money.

I'd be interested in your list too Jim, sad to see you sell it though :(
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Hi,

It's always sad to see a fellow collector that has to sell his collection whatever the reason. We all know how much fun & energy goes into a collection like yours, and it must be hard for you to come to this decision. I really feel for you.

In any case, it would be great if a good part of your collection stays within this wonderful community we have here, so you can add me for a list of items you're offering.

I'm mainly interested in smurfagrams and sockels of any sort, mugs, jubilee smurfs, but since I collect about everything smurfy, I woul be more than happy to get your complete list of smurfy items available.

Smurfy regards from Canada!

Daniel :D

Jim, I am interested. I have a rather meager collection still... I don't even have 100 Smurfs yet! :???:

Send me your list and/or I could send you a list of what I'd like to add to my collection first.

Postby PonySmurf » Sat Feb 26, 2011 3:00 am
Jim I emailed you a short list. I've got a list 3 times that long but I think what I sent you is a good start. :D
