Hi everyone,

I have been reading a bit about the BP-smurfs and want to tell you the more exact dates for the promotions. The years I have written before is pretty accurate, now when I have the exact ones to compare with.

Australia: Started on smurfday 9th september 1979. 10 smurfs avaiable on the releaseday: Smurf, Handy, Drummer, Spy, Rocker, Not Hearing, Judge, Vanity, Flower and Watchman.

UK: Test-marketed in 1977. Lauched smurfday 17th May 1978? 10 smurfs in the beginning? Handy, Spy, Papa, Astro, Brainy, Rocker, Smurf, Smurfette, Gardening and Drummer.

Holland: Smurfday for the "Smurf mee, Smurf BP"-campaign was 2nd April 1969. 5 smurfs avaiable at the releaseday or during 1969.

South Africa: early 1980.

Ended: 1 June 1982 Coronet took over the rights in the UK( they had already sold the smurfs for 2 years then but with the National Benzole trademark-rights). Most likely BP stopped with smurfs around that date all over the world. maybe the trademark-rights for the smurfs were to high or they noticed drops in sales??? :-?

In Sweden the smurfs are blue ( and yellow).
