Andre,
I don't think that the four I bought are fakes are they are too good. I did buy the fake sets and compared them to the genuine ones, and the difference is quite obvious.

The four I mean right now, are of a very good quality, so I really believe that seller got a hold of them somehow and now is selling them cheaply. Since those smurfs are made in China it would make sense, I guess

I put a little information page about the fake China smurfs on my site
http://www.hiddeninthewoods.com/Hallowe ... China.html
and I think you can see the difference pretty well on it.

When I bought the other four smurfs (mainly because of the blank sheet singer) I was quite surprised that they didn't turn out to be fakes but the real thing...I was very pleasantly surprised, I might add

Thanks Maureen,
Nice reading. Almost want to buy them now. :)

Sometimes the fakes can be as intresting to collect as the other. But personally I prefer fakes with more obvios differences in colour or shape. Like the ones Lia and Joaquin are showing from their collections. I just can´t find them. I don´t know how they get these?? :-?

Maureen,

there are 2 versions of the made in China-marking for the smurf in bed. You bought the peyo creations box, which I don´t have. Are any of these in this new box?

Version 1. Top picture. In polkadotbox version1.
Image
Version2. In French magazine and polkadotbox version2.

This is the germanmade one with CE-marking. If this is in the box?

Red material CE-marked smurf together with this.

Thanks Maureen,

sorry, I think I got the numbers wrong, when I added both in the same post. The one with the smaller CE-marking is the version I have with my french magazine bed and in one of my polkadotboxes.

I will try to find the box you have, just haven´t seen it yet in the smurfshop in town. :-?

Thank you for sharing your pics, Andre. :D You truly have enriched the board. :D

Is the soccer player from the magazine the same that was released via the German "Schlumpf mag extra"? Tojo helped me to get my hands on that one, but I haven't taken it out of the package and don't have the French one, so I can't compare them. I do know that the red looks to be the same though :-?

@Mo: Concluding from the pics, I'd support your thesis. :D
Sadly I wasn't able to buy all the "Je collectionne les Schtroumpfs" mags at Passion, but I hope to find them for a decent price. :D

I got a question from a member if I had a list of the smurfs sold with the smurfs sold with the french magazine. And which markings they have.

But I thought it would be easier to show it on pictures.

So I start with some basic info.

The most obvious thing you see is the paint. I would like to use Martins description of the painting; superb. It is a matte paint, looks a little bit like the portugal painting. Strangely these are all very well painted and among the best quality smurfs I have. Both accessories and smurfs are great.

None of the smurfs have any dots. So no blue dots on the french magazine smurfs.

All of them are marked made in China. With the exception of the stork with baby.

Many of the smurfs have the same markings as the ones sold in the stores.

On this smurf the only difference is the paint.

5 smurfs from the marching band was sold with the magazine.

I believe I bought the band when they first was sold and all of them have blue dots.

The 5 to the right sold with the magazine, none of them have any dots.

The colours are almost the same, but the gold paint is more light and shiny on the "french" ones. I took a picture without the flash so you can see it more clearly.

The soccerplayer has a shown before different colour and different size of number. But I thought I add a picture of the marking also since it is hard to see.

It is on the back of the trousers. Hard to see on the picture but it says made in China.

Sassette looks almost like this german-marked version, black dot.
But has the made in china marking also.

Many of these versions are not in the DSK IV because the magazine was sold after this was released, so it could be intresting versions to add there if you are intrested in markingversion.

Naturi has darkbrown trousers and Made in China marking.

I took a picture of him together with my 3 german Naturi. Without CE, W. Germany with CE and only germany with CE. And as you can see the colour on the trousers are different.
