So what's those little faces on the fruit meant to be? You see them better in the bigger picture.

I wonder if the Statue of Liberty on the crossing is meant to indicate "Atlantic Crossing" by Rod Stewart?

I don't see a lot of of those names that have been listed so can someone please explain?

I think some of those buildings have been used on album covers too...maybe "Strange Days" by The Doors...it's just a guess though.....there seems to be something there that reminds me of that album.

Are all of these artists meant to be on Virgin records (at one time or another) or can they be any bands at all?

I see Black Flag, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Pet Shop Boys, Beach Boys, Eagles, B-52s, Led Zep, Elvis Costello maybe (Cowboys & Indians), Blind Melon, Smashing Pumpkins. I wonder if that white cake on the far left is the one on the cover of the Rolling Stones album "Beggars Banquet"...again this is only from memory :-? I see Whitesnake if that is meant to be what it is...or is it snakes & ladders?

I don't think the pics are albumn covers, Dyar. The pics are supposed to represent the band/artists names as far as I know.

The lady on the crossing is the Iron Maiden I think according to my sister and I guess Fram. She doesn't look like the Statue of Liberty to me. She doesn't have an arm in the air and the torch that I can see.

I would assume they are Virgin records bands/artists as its their pic.

As for explantions you would have to ask each person as I can see some that they're talking about but not all.

Here's my explanations:
Matchbox 20 - the little boxes at the front that make the #20
50c - the big coin on the left
Madonna - in the window near the pet shop is a Madonna and child painting
Twisted Sister - the two entwined aerobic looking girls in the middle of the pic just in front of the zebra crossing

Are those nails on the ground left of the matchboxes??? and what is that stuff between them and the smashed pumpkins?? m and ms?? (Eminem??)

Do you think also that the apartment with lots of people in the back might be "Crowded House"???
