I don't know if this question has been asked earlier - but if so, maybe it's changed since last time :-D ?

I try to collect ONE smurf of each modell, instead of all variations - to keep the amount of little blue ones down a little bit. First I bought those I could find so I had all regular ones, but then I noticed that some of them seemed to be impossible to get, so I started looking at their markings instead.

Everytime I get a smurf with a different marking or colour I compare it with the one I've already had for a while. If I like it better then I switch them. And the old smurf moves on to another smurfy home. All my smurfs are displayed. I know some people says one shouldn't open the boxes, but I have put together all my supersmurfs and playsets...

Some smurf models I collect ALL I get, since I have special memories from my childhood - like the astrosmurfs, which I never could get as a child but tried very hard to get, and a few others that I just liked very much.

Today I still miss a lot of smurfs to have a complete collection, but I don't mind that. The search is really fun!

I'll count my smurfs in my collection and see how many I've got. I haven't done that for a very long time! I mark them in my catalogue, but sometimes I forget about it, so now I have to start from the beginning I guess. How do you keep a record of all your smurfs??

Enjoy your day!!
Please remember, a smile and a friendly gesture make this world a better place! = The smurfy way of living.

Hi Anette, great question.
After Andrew asked me last night I gave an approx guess, so instead of getting on with the housework this morning I thought it much better to waste an hour and actually count the little guys. Because our collection is actually in storage I have had to go on what is on Blue Imps (which isn't everything!) and my memory.
I am going with approx 1650 but I could well have missed a few.

This isn't such a big collection, there are many smurfers out there with thousands!

As I mentioned to Andrew yesterday, I can't wait to have a smurf room so I can get the whole collection out and then I would be able to do a better count.

Hi Anette

I have more than 2 and less than Rachel. I know that's not very precise but I haven't counted mine for a few weeks and the spending is out of control. At a guess it would be between 800 & 900 since I started collecting at the end of October. Apparently you can't sell your family on Ebay as I wanted to raise some funds to purchase some rare promos from you. I will have to try another way.

As far as a checklist goes, I started with the MV checklist and had so much fun ticking off all of the new ones and dreaming about the ones I wish I had. (The only smurf I am missing in the regular collection is the Smurf Riding Candycane in the Christmas decorations series). When I translated the Katalog I added tickboxes for every listing including each variation so now I tick off those boxes. There are quite a few that were not listed in the Katalog so I have added them in as it's no fun having a smurf and not being able to tick something off besides the person you outbidded. Sorry. I would recommend something like the MV checklist for someone starting out or for someone who wants one each of the basic set.

You mentioned you take all of the supers etc out of their boxes and so do I. I figure if I can't play with them or admire them then what's the point of having them.

Take care

Andrew

Would you believe that I have only just over 200 smurfs in my personal collection?

It would be so easy to keep more smurfs for myself but I can't do that until I have a bit more money to spare.

I bet you guys thought I would have thousands!

I thought you would have a lot more Karen...I suppose you do if you include the ones from your shop....oh and the 5 drummers waiting to meet you in Sydney.

I have a box of ones for sale but there is probably only about 20 in there so you probably have the most in the ones for sale category.

Well all, I finally checked off all the smurfs I currently have - not counting variations & doubles, I have 200 regulars, 23 supers, and 9 christmas ornaments. If I count variations and doubles, I have exactly 300 plus 31 other smurfy items, like glasses, plushes, promos, playsets and buildings! It looks like a whole lot more! :D

Gosh..not sure, but last time I checked in the region of 500/600..but I have more now.

Steve.
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

TOO BLOODY MANY

Sorry about that.....never thought I would say that either but I have been adding them to my new display and I am having trouble adding in all of the old ones and yet I still have about 200-300 new ones here and another 170 or so coming in the mail. I know that many of you have at least twice as many as I do and that my collection is not large compared to many in the world but I can't fit them anywhere and I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do. If I go insane soon then at least you will know why.

Phew!

I have just smurfed the ones I smurf on my list... I smurf to 994 !!!
Ok this smurfs 74 kinders and 7 Plastoys...
All the rest are PVCs...

It doesn't smurf the doubles and the ones I have smurfed recently...

...And the ones that my daughter has captured in her bedroom... (she has now started her own collection!)

Scary...

Will I smurf the 1000 barrier?

:-o :-o

Hey do you realise: If we have an average of let's say 500 smurfs each on this forum and there 44 of us... that's around 22 000 smurfs!!!!!

:D :D

Imagine a picture with 22000 smurfs! The area we would need!!!!
:-?

Cheers,

David

Howdy,

I currently have 220 smurfs and i have had to buy specialist furniture to store them on. The corner of the office is 'Smurfland' and everyone who visits always pops in to say hello.
The little village consists of 2 houses, a windmill and a farmhouse. They absolutely love it! The smurfs, i mean.
My partner bought me lots of books on making landscapes which was purchased from the Games Workshop and this has been very useful. Another really good friend bought me some fab fishtank rock/cave formations which suit the place so well. I've got rollerbladers and bmx-ers zipping out through the entrance! Astrosmurf stands beautifully on top pointing at the moon...
Our local garden centre sold miniature victorian scenery, and i purchased some amazing mini xmas street lights! Kewl at night.

Keep on Smurfing,

Smurfy Paul x
