Hi everyone, hope you all had a good Christmas.

Just wondered, does anyone know if this book also includes details about smurfs, I see it's by Frank Oswald who wrote DSK IV?

Der grosse Sammlerkatalog für Schleichtiere

Thanks

He e-mailed when he first released the book a couple of years ago and stated it does not include smurfs.

Apparently, IMPS is giving him a hard time about a new smurf catalog and he couldn't even include them in this catalog. I don't have the catalog myself though, nor have I checked it for smurfs, so I am going simply by hearsay from the author himself :D

Thanks Maureen, shame to hear IMPS giving him a hard time though, DSK really could do with an update...

Let's hope for a change of heart in the new year...

Franl Oswald dis a great job with DSKs and i think we (as collectors) have to be tahnkfull to him, but I wonder...

In 2012, has any sense to make a new book???We have more info at blogs, forums like this (thanks to the job of people like André, Tintin, Lia, Maureen, Benny etc posting and sharing pics of variations), webs like Christy`s one and many others????It is only a thought

Of course I would buy it if appearing but the utility would be different for me

I think a book would still be of good value as collectors could use it to mark off those variations they have and update it when they go to fleamarkets or fairs.

I am using my website as a reference of what I got and it has come in handy many a times, but I think for those collectors who don't have a website a book would be really handy. It's hard to keep track of all the different variations on a spreadsheet :-?

Now we are talking about a website, why not an app for our iphone or ipad (maybe even for other smartphones)? Is there somebody very handy in it? In the app you must be able to mark the smurf (variations) you already have. I think it would be very handy! When you see somewhere a smurf, and you don't have the catalogue with you, you can watch the smurfcollecting app!

(Sorry for my bad English!)

An app would be great, but I assume license would be required??

However I now have had time to describe all boxes I know exist on my website boxhistory-pages. Here you will be able to see almost all variations possible. Still need to add pictures of displays, cards, stickers etc.. Off course a lot of detailed smurf information for nerds like me, like years, differences, reasons etc.

The DSK 4 don´t tell anything about the boxes so I assume it could be veru useful for many collectors. Also for beginners. :D

I have actually made it to look really good on my iphone. That is the thing that really pleases me!! :D Because I think it should be easy to use the pages when checking on the phone, when you visit fairs, stores etc. :D

I have also made lists suited for hardcopies for beginners. It is on the homepage. These also look great on the phone if you could mark which ones you have. But I am not sure if you could make them individual. On the computer they are easy to mark and copy to excel and then use either in excel or printed, and marking with a pen. Those ones are just normal lists with no variations. But on the phone you are able to check for variations when clicking or tapping on the articlenumber. So far I have not added so much to the smurfpages. Will be done though but it is very timeconsuming!! :banghead: :D

You could use office on your phone for your own list. And then use dropbox and have both lists updated. no matter if you make the changes on your phone or on computer!! :o :D
