I think these are adorable.. I think my fav is the smurf smoking the peace pipe.. got to love it!! I agree with RAchel that they seem to be comeing out with smurfs geared towards the U.S. market yay Maybe we will see more playsets and supers once the new movie comes out. I would think by this time next year we would start hearing something about that.. at least that is what I am hopeing and i have my fingers crossed tightly.

Hi Guys, Hello Dyar welcome back !!

Thank you my favourite rugby and dental loving cave couple....it's nice to be back on the forum.....but I was happier in Europe me thinks.....you both were missed over there and not just by Syd & me.

The halloween set may not of necessarily been geared towards the US market as everyone seems to do Halloween now except for us and our friends in Finland....not sure what the go is in NZ Daryl but I have a hunch it may be the same as us. The 2004 soccer smurfs were definately not an American series I would of thought but I guess with this being a native American set I suppose it could be seen as directed at the US but I love the American Indians and their history and I am guessing a lot of Europeans would admire them too perhaps.

I agree with Steve & Mark in that - "they are blue and will do!"....but I think I like these ones a lot as I have been hoping for more Indians for a while...the peace pipe one is cool and they may even look nicer once we have them in our over excited little hands.

I just can't help but think we are lucky to have new designed smurfs every year.....not everyone who collects stuff is as lucky as we are.

Kids are a bit more remote from playing cow boys and indians... they seem to play robots and monsters kinda of things these days! But it doesn't matter: I like that new set: It will go nicely with the existing cow boy and indian Smurfs already out!!!!

Awwwwwww they are so adorable. The only thing I miss are playsets. I sincerely hope that there will be wigwams etc. available as "Geschlumpfe", but I highly doubt this... .

Anyway, this set looks great! Though a little puzzled at the choice of theme again. I look forward to the release!

We are collectors, so we are kind of biased customers and always find interesting the things we collect.

But I have to admit that this new set of smurfs is somewhat odd, and maybe it will have hard times selling-out in Europe, since normal customers may want to pick up only the smurfs they like, as with the Halloween set, whose only some figurines sold out.

Hi Dyar, Welcome back.
Over here in NZ it depends where you live. We have shops selling fireworks although they may be banned. The politicians put the country on notice that any stupidity then this will be the last time they are sold to the public.... sure enough letter boxes and post boxes were bombed, sky rockets aimed at vehicles, animals attacked and trees set alight. I honestly hope they do ban them.. they set them off in their back yards near my trees. I have to stay up all night protecting my property from fire and drunken behaviour etc and always have to pick up the rubbish off my front lawn in the morning.

The trick or treate is not encouraged unless accompanied by adults - who invariably don't want to do it, or to meet their neibourghs. We had the option of putting up signs inviting people to trick or treate else they won't come. I had trick or treaters once when I was living on a well lit street but haven't seen any in the last seven years.

We keep hearing on the news of violence, abductions, drugs and gangs, so I think it depends what part of town you live and how well you know your neibourghs. The gangs of trick or treaters haven't brought me any drugs, child slaves or nerds to beat up this years. I call it mean spirited!

re the 2007 smurfs... I'd love to get them, but I still haven't got the 2006 ones yet! Until I get a job my income is not so hot. I haven't had a decent bit of money since leaving my job in February.

Thanks for the "welcome back" and for the info regarding the scene in NZ. It seems you guys do Halloween a little more than us but it seems only here and there. I have ben chased by a gang in NZ (Otara) and I have heard there are quite a few problems there and have been for a while regarding the different types of races found in the country....we are now catching up to this as well in at least a lot of the major cities.

I think we last had fireworks in 1986 (Queen's b'day celebrations) but were banned due tot he types of things you mentioned above and because kids would invariaby blow their hands off being idiots.

I think Australia will pick up on Halloween eventually due to the money that can be made by companies selling Halloween merchandise. My neighbour had some trick or treaters this year but they must of skipped our house as we didn't get any. We did get one group of kids about 5 years ago knock on our door but that is the only time I have ever had it happen to me so far.

Interesting to know what things are like in NZ

Hi Guys, I'm afraid that fireworks are not banned in the uk but obviously they are not to be sold to anyone under 18.
That never seems to stop them though and for the past 5 weeks or so they have been let off by kids everywhere and you can see the damage they make in the morning and bits of broken fireworks all around....

It would seem it is so much easier for underage kids to get a hold of things such as fireworks, cigarettes, alcohol than I think the govornment here realise. or if they do know then they just can't be arsed about it Just the other day we were bothered in a shop by two kids who kept asking us to buy aerosol for them......

If you ask me they should just restict fireworks to being sold to councils for public displays and let that be it.

I couldn't agree more Steve..my neighbours had a firework party 2 nights ago...because it's traditionally celebrated on the 1st November It sounded like what I can only describe as 'a mortar attack on Beirut'..I had a headache after the 2 hours it lasted.

I felt there was a lot more hype for Halloween in Australia this year. More than usually. Though I don't know and don't think it would have made much difference. We haven't had any door knockers since the mid-90s.. never get anyone kocking at our door these days, not that we'd open the door to them if they did..

I got back Monday night after no sleep on the plane....then I thought I had DVT so I went into hospital and didn't get to see the doctor until 2am only to find the symptons had disappeared by then ....I went without sleep for something like 33 hours since I woke up from Maxine's house which wasn't the best...but then the other day I didn't sleep for about 36 hours as I tried to get back to normal sleeping hours after waking up at 1pm the day before and then staying up to 3am the following day so this week has been a tough one to adjust. I am so tired right now but after tonight I should be in the rhythm of things and will just be tired from staying up too late as per normal.

OMG, that must have been quite a worry, I am glad to hear that you didn't have DVT.

It is very interesting to hear how Halloween seems to be growing around the world. When we were young kids, trick & treating didn't really happen although there were other tradtions like bobbing apples that we used to do and you couldn't even get hold of a pumpkin so we used to hollow out swedes. It was still also regarded in some terms as a religious event too but that might just be because I went to a primary Church school. I have certainly noticed the commercial side of it growing here over the last couple of years and this year in particular you couldn't go past a shop without seeing some sort of coustume or mask for sale.
