Hi guys, :wave2:
I bought this two raws from the seller some months before and they are 100% original....
I would also love a set of these but Cheesy I have to question you statement about them being 100% original. Personally, I doubt very much that these smurfs have been produced officially and remained in this condition. It is very rare for smurfs to come directly from the factory still unpainted and these praying smurfs have been flooding the market for the last year or so but had never been seen before this.

My guess is that either:

these are newly molded and haven't been painted

have been stripped of their paint (either original figures or the fake versions)

Either way that means that they are not original.

The fact that the praying smurfs are rare, expensive smurfs makes me think that sellers would be silly to strip them of their paint if they were authentic as the value would drop. Also, the fact that it often seems to be the same sellers who are selling many of these (as well as other large amounts of questionable smurfs) makes me even more convinced that these are fakes.

Sorry. :-?

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Hi!!!!! I don´t collect raw smurfs ( at the moment... :) :) ), so I´m not an expert...But ...
the fact that it often seems to be the same sellers who are selling many of these (as well as other large amounts of questionable smurfs) makes me even more convinced that these are fakes
...I have seen these smurfs sometimes recently in ebay...Actually I think the same seller has three or four similar sets...I´m not doubting of seller´s credibility, but I think is a question to think...Why do the same sellers offer so many really rare smurfs?

Bye

Why do the same sellers offer so many really rare smurfs?
I have heard a rumour that that particular seller has bought up some old smurf playsets in bulk. I wouldn't like to say either way whether these are fake or not, although I do understand there has been a "find" of praying smurfs as well, although I hadn't heard about raw ones, and I thought the praying smurfs ended up with a different dealer. I am none the wiser as to whether these are fake or not, but this is just information that I have heard on the smurf grapevine.

Says it all Karen
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

ok..maybe you are right with fake... the only thing I can imagine they stripped of their paint because the color of material is exactly the same like the original ones and the markings qualtiy is the same (or even better) than on the original ones. I found no signs for stripping their paint but I don't know too much about faked raws (..the only thing I really know are bundesligasmurfs..)

But ... anyway I love them and they are looking good. ... :-D

Looking at at least teh Smurfette it appears to me to be authentic which means:

a) they have either been stripped...or

b) they have managed to fake them perfectly as the seams are in the correct spots like the authentic ones.

I think they look great but it's more than likely that they were probably stripped since there are so many of them.....I still think they would make nice pieces in a collection in my opinion.

I'm with Dyar, I think if anything they are likely to have been stripped as opposed to made as a fake. If they were original underneath then I guess they will still hold a good value, some people won't like how they became "raw" if it was done using chemicals, but... I think people will still pay a lot of money for these items. It doesn't make it "right" but the smurfs will probably hold their value.

It will be very interesting to hear what you think Dyar when your wreath smurf arrives, please let us know. :D

Christy, I will also be interested to hear your opinions when yours arrive also. :D

I agree with you all that these do look very convincing but I suppose I am always over cautious and if you look at the other evidence surrounding these figures I still have my doubts I'm afraid. :-?
