[Smurfysmurf]

Hello,
I am new to this board, but have already found a lot of helpful information here about smurfs. I have been collecting them since I was a small girl in the 70s in Germany and for the longest I didn't know that you can also get smurfs here in the US until I found ebay and boy, my collections has grown since then:) I am now buying and selling smurfs on ebay like crazy and having a ball doing it.......

I have a question about Gargamel's castle. I have received my second castle today in a box and it looks new. However, it is slightly different from the one I already have. The new one is blue with grey bricks, but my other one is totally blue. Does anybody know if there have been two or more version released of the castle?

Hi Smurfysmurf, welcome to the board.

Yes there have been a couple of obvious variations in the castle over the years. The original variation had the all blue colour with blue bricks and a more detailed colour roof whilst the newer version has the grey bricks and a plain yellow roof.

I think you should feel right at home here as your story about collecting as a child and then rediscovering them through Ebay more recently is similar to many members including me.

Hi smurfysmurf....welcome to the forum

As Rach says there are 2 obvious variations of the Castle and I have a hunch that there is also a 3rd slightly different variation to the older all blue Castle....although I don't have proof of this. The Castle (along with Windmill & Farm) were released in 3 different types of boxes and I have a suspicion that all 3 would be different but I only have the 2 like you so at the moment it is only a hunch until I can prove one way or another.

Another difference between the 2 main variations of the Castle is that the older version has a type of yellowy 2nd level floor whereas the newer one has a brown upstairs floor.
