Hi guys

Cheer up....only a couple more days to go to the weekend (....that long  )

I received a couple of Katalogs today which I thought might be interesting to share with you guys. A long time ago (earlier this year) David actually pointed out an auction for a Katalog that I didn't have on ebay, I won the auction but like my luck this year the package went missing.

I contacted the seller and he said he would send me out another one which arrived today. The seller was really nice to deal with and even included 2 more katalogs that I didn't have as a free bonus for the trouble I had.

The first one is the 1985 mini catralogue. I already had a French version of this one but the new one is German which also features buildings, all of the playsets 1-10 and 4 of the big playsets, Plush smurfs, Snoopy figures, Lucky Luke & Yakari figures...whoever they are :-? among the usual regs and supers.

It also showed a picture of the Farm House that has a green base. This is interesting as the Farm House looks like it should sit on a base or something...at least that's what I have felt in the past.

Here's a couple of pics of the Kat and the Farm

The other 2 Katalogs I received were from 1989 & 1990

It was interesting to see that on the inside of the 1989 one it has the Hula & Fitness smurf as animated figures instead of the actual PVC figures.

Also...on the 1990 katalog cover it has the Patriot with a white flag pole which is different. The flag also looks to be made of actual cloth as well.

The 3rd pic is of the Smurf Safety Card Game which also came today after more drama than what OJ Simpson had to endure in the 90s.

Cheers

Yep we have the Queen's Birthday long weekend this weekend....which is pretty cool cos it means youget paid for doing nothing and on top of that it's only 4 more days to the next weekend.....it's a win-win situation for us workers.

We also have a long weekend for our Grand Final weekend....not sure why.....infact I never really know why we are having the long weekends but I am sure glad that we do. I once thought that life would be better if we worked on Saturday & Sunday only and then took the rest of the week off as our weekend without it affecting our pay. So far most CEOs and Managers that I have written to over the last 10 years haven't responded but I am still remaining positive.

Lucky Luke is a cowboy, a Belgian comic made by Morris since 1947, which has had some long cartoons (movies) made, and a series of TV cartoons. Some 200 million comic albums have been sold. Figurines exist from most major companies.

Yakari is a more juvenile series about a little Indian and his interactions with the animals of the Wild West. Made by Derib (a Swiss author), some 20 albums (since about 1975), and a few efforts for merchandising (soem cartoons as well, I think), but never really very popular (too poetic probably).
:sheep: Bored of normality, why not go smurf? :sheep:

Thanks for the info Fram. I knew of Lucky Luke previously but I have never heard of Yakari before. :-?

I wish I had all of the mini kats from the 1980s....and 1991 as well. It would help work out which figures were released each year....although they do vary from country to country and therefore from katalog to katalog for each year (i.e. Spanish, French & German etc).

It would still be good to know for sure as I think the DSK is not thorough in this area....at least not worldwide releases.
