ppl thing that im insane to collect smurf because i am 17 years old and its really uncommom for a boy of my age....
Hi samismurf

It's probably considered odd for most of here to collect smurfs at our ages but as Attom once said....it's not like the kids can afford half of them. I think smurf collecting is unique and fun and in many ways it's really kinda cool in its own little way. Not everyone will understand that but as you say there are worse things you could be doing with your money so I hope they never drag you down with any of their crap.

Yes, I'm really lucky, because I don't think anyone would ever laugh when they find out about my smurf passion!

I mean, people are already used to hearing silly things about me. Single male of (almost) 35, no wife, no kids, no possesions (house, car etc), collects comics (approx 12.000 comics in collection), stickers (I need approx 150 stickers to complete my FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 album), dresses like 20 years old boy, goes to punk concerts etc etc.

You see, the smurfs are just a tiny new detail which fits only too good to my profile :-)

Hi kowalsky

Nice to meet someone from Croatia and don't worry about people thinking you are crazy...you sound like you're reasonably normal like all of us. :)

Welcome to the forum

Yeap! Just as reasonable as us!!! :-D

12000 comics!!! Wow! That's what I call a comic collection!

If you had to pick one, or let's say one series, as your favorite, which one would it be?

Cheers,

David

Which comics do I like?

Well, I like Smurs :) That's why I came to the idea of collecting smurfs. Generally I collect figurines of comic characters, but the Smurfs I like the most!

As for the comics, generally I prefere french and belgian school.

And of course, Corto Maltese (by Hugo Pratt)!!!! Anyone else likes Corto?

Yes, that's why I'm here!!!! :))

Do you like soccer?

Postby Syd Smurf » Thu May 25, 2006 7:57 am
Hi kowalsky

I'm not a big soccer fan but I will be supporting Australia in the World Cup...I watched the end of the Aust v Greece game tonight which we won 1-0. I keep telling my friend in Germany that the Aussies are coming :) ....he doesn't seem that worried though :-?

Can you buy smurfs in the shops where you live kowalsky? We have them here although that seems to be fading now...I know a lot of countries that do and a lot that don't so it would be interesting to know if they are available in Croatia.

I guess it just proves that Smurfs are very universal...and...er....I guess then....so is being in debt.

The reason I asked you about soccer is because we're in the same group, together with Brasil and Japan. There are several croats playing for Australia. A croat Mark Viduka is the captain of Australian team!

Yes, there are shops in Zagreb (the capital of Croatia) where the smurfs can be bought. The new ones cost approx 2,50-3 eur.

kowalsky: Corto Maltese!!!! Wow!!!! that's been a long time since I've heard that name! Yes I do like Corto Maltese. At the time I used to read these I also used to read the Moebius albums... oh and Milos Manara (!) :):).

Don't ask me why, I associates these together coz they are all very different...

I used to collect comics, but I have stopped a while ago. I still have all of them though!!!! It makes me feel like diving back into them and start reading these again!! :):)

I used to like the Marvel comics a lot. You may know the LUG editions who used to print all the STRANGE comics (ie the french versions of the US Marvel comics). I have all the Conan (in French) as well...

That gives me an idea for homemade: Conan the Smurfarian !!! :):):):)

:) :) :) :)

It could be fun when Croatia plays Australia then. I went to school with a few friends with Croatian background and one of them asked me if I was a Croat because they thought I looked like one. We have quite a few Croatians here so I am sure their loyalties will be divided when the 2 countries play.

Good luck to Croatia for the World Cup :D

Hi Kowalsky, a big welcome. :welcome:

I think you are the first smurfer from Croatia that I have met so that is really cool. :cheerz:

Your comic collection sounds amazing, that must take some space to store or do you have them all out on display?

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Insanity and smurf collecting. Great topic for discussion. lol.

The only sane thing about collecting smurfs is that they're small and don't take up a lot of room. This small size should mean that the collecting of smurfs is more of a mild psychiatric disorder rather than full blown insanity.

I know heaps of different collectors. All of them clain to be insane whether it be LP's , pottery, stamps, etc...

Cheers
