Hi everyone,

I have been collecting again for a couple of months now so thought it was about time to post some pictures to show how it is going. I am really pleased, so I hope you like them.

I can add more close ups of the regulars if anyone is interested.

Hey, you're from Solihull :) I'm a stones throw away from there. As long as the stone lands on the 71 bus, that is :) :) :)

Hi Mark

You are doing soooooo well at hunting down smurfs for your collection. So many in such a short space of time...and there is nothing quite as nice as getting a smurf for the first time and crossing it off the list in the countdown to complete a collection.

I was thinking the other day.....how big are our collections going to be in another 5 years of collecting...if we go the distance and at this kind of speed of accumulating?

Thanks for sharing the update Mark as it's always nice to see what forum members have bought.

Dyar

  Thanks. A nice compliment. I am happy with what I have so far, but I am sure Karen's store looks a LOT better than this :) :)

Hmmm (consults West Midlands Travel site.......) Somewhere between Solihull and Sutton Coldfield? You must not be far away at all!

Have you had any luck finding any smurfs in the Midlands?

Hi Mark

Dyar
I really don't think I could keep going at the same speed. One of three things would happen:
i) I would die of a heart attack from the number of times my heart skipped a beat at looking at my huge collection
ii) Louisa would eat me alive as smurfs would have taken over the house. It has been difficult enough creating the space so far. I have had to add extra shelves to the display shelves. (altough my ambition is to take over all the shelves, but don't tell her that :) :) :) )
ii) I would have had to sell my car to get more cash- that would mean not getting to work that would mean no money. Although being a man of leisure at home does sound kind of nice.

Thanks Rae. I have bought 361 smurfs over the last two months. Things have calmed down a bit but still steadily increasing. I'm sure you'll find the supers soon :)

Incredible Mark :-D You've bought more smurfs in the last few months than I've collected over the last 2 years :) You've got a wonderful collection there & good luck with doubling it's size.

I'm in Marston Green, very close to you :)

The only times I manage to find smurfs in the Midlands is at the memorabilia fair at the NEC. But you have to search for them :D We could exchange tips if we ever find any smurfs for sale over here. I can't wait 'till the weather brightens up and I can hunt in car boot sales :D

Thanks for your comments everyone. - and yes Karen, the sockels do look good. I think they would look even nicer with a bit more space and a few more of them. Once I get a few more I'll think about moving them to a bigger shelf.

:-D
