I did the rest of the smurfs too..

There are 78 super smurfs totaling 885 euro

Easter smurfs... 12 easters = 106 euro
gold cord ornaments.... 12= 930
history smurfs 6=275

I broke these up into seperate groups even though the numbers run together, but it was easier for me to figureout the price by following the order in the book. :relieved:

now to figure out my actuall total by adding up the variations :???:

Gerda,

Nice work!!

Based on your posts then, a basic set of all everything in the DSK before the promos is worth approx. 5,000 Euro.

Interesting to see that 12 Christmas smurfs is worth more than 78 super smurfs.

you can let her know these are just book values... not necessarily retail value as I have rarely seen smurfs sell on ebay for the price listed in the book. But I think it is a good place to start if you want to insure your collection. The dsk is recognised by collectors as a "price" guide so it should be usefull in proving the worth of a collection to the insurance if one would want to seperatly insure there smurfs. I'm seriously thinking about it now that I have seen what it adds up to... especially since I think our policy wont cover all of it... worth investigating anyway :-?

I told Mrs Dyar what your results were Gerda and you should of seen the look of opportunity in her eyes (after the look of disgust first of course).

I think I will be buying a lock for the smurf room next.

The DSK values are for mint condition pieces which obviously most of us know but it gets frustrating when people think a rubbed and yellowed smurf should be the value it says in the DSK. :banghead:

Are you saying my no legged one armed diver isn't worth 7 euro :( oh the horror.. i'm so disapointed now.

I think the dsk value is off on many smurfs anyway, even if they where mint the price does not always seem acurate from what you can buy a smurf for. Then again it seems others items are underpriced in the dsk as it is outdated and some of the newer items seem to go for more than the book value.

I have no intention of listing my entire smurf collection for 5000 euro on ebay and expecting anyone to buy it, but I do think that it is a good number to give to the insurance company as a guide to a round about value of a collection. :-? lets' say I do insure it and heaven forbid something should happen I would hate the inurance company to try and figure out which one of my smurfs had a rub on the ear or had a little paint missing and therefor it would not be considered mint.. I guess that would go for anyone haveing homeowners insurance. I know if you fill out a claim you have to give them a value of the item that was lost or damaged.

LOL, I know you are on the ball with the DSK prices, Gerda. I was referring to the endless emails I get trying to sell me "rare" lantern smurfs with rubbed ears and writing on their feet. :) :) :)

I was thinking, it's not like you can postcode your smurfs so once they've been stolen how the heck are you going to trace them anyway for the insurance company to decide whether they were rubbed? I can just see the Police finding Brainy Smurf in the middle of a field, looking at their records and saying "AHA! He must be Gerda's Brainy Smurf who was reported missing on 12 June 2006 because he has a 2mm rub on his right ear and two left feet!" :) :) :)

I could see it now...

"yes Mrs. Scheuers we have a smurf in custody, would you be able to come down and identify your smurf" :-? :-? :) :) :) :) :scratchinghead: :scratchinghead: Well officer he is blue, white hat........

gerda

ps..Hey Karen, can I interest you in a one legged one armed diver.. he is super rare.. only one in existance that I know of.. so he must be rather valuable don't you think.. you could resell him as a jaws promo smurf, for a little extra I can paint some blood on him to make him look more real... You could make a small fortune :o :o :o :) :)

Laugh you may but this has happened several Saturday nights and early Sunday mornings when Syd goes out. Apparently the Police have my phone number on speed dial at the Police Station for quick access. They even have a specially built mini cell cos the normal ones weren't much use to incarcerate him. I think he is easily the most expensive smurf I own after all of the bail payments over the last couple of years.
