Hello. I really don't buy many smurfs on ebay, only occasionally. I hope to buy more now. I've had a new full time job for the past month, and my first smurf purchase arrived yesterday. 3 smurfs.

20052 - cleaner
20096 - sledgehammer
20121 - ice skater

Very nice condition on all 3.
Excellent buys!

Just a question about the Cleaner smurf.
As he is number 20052 and is also in a Petrol station set.
Just wondering if all the figures have the 2 small holes under his feet (I guess to stand him to the petrol station platform.

Brad.

I've never seen that either  Wow!! I bet not many of those were sold when they came out - they must be been out of the price-class of most kids back then (most kids today seem to get ridiculously high pocket money allowances - at least here in Germany they do!).

That would have been brilliant to have owned :D

I've got the box and the mat for that one (well Kitty has the mat) but it was missing the figures. :(

I still need 3 and 4 of this Playsets in original packing ... :o

I have only Playset 1 and playset 2 in perfect condition. But they are really expensive to buy and hard to get... :banghead:

I have this set mint and I can say that my gas attendent does not have the holes under his feet. So I don't think he is from the set!

I'm missing 1 and 4 from this set. My mom picked them up for me when she was moving my grandma back in 1989.. sonderprise of 29 marks :D I just wish she would have gotten the other two right away, but she only grabbed what she found :???: Now they are a pain to find and defently not cheap.

Does it look like the holes are an after market thing or original (someone did it themselves) :-?

I looked little bit through the internet and found something in another smurf forum..

Someone says this smurfs was coming with a cabin and standing right beside this one... But he wrotes that the cabin was made of paper so it is very rare now ...

Sounds very strange but maybe a hint :???:

Nice smurfs Brad. :-D

I have also had that variation of the cleaner (addendant) recently, I think we even got them from the same seller Brad, marked made in Portugal with a yellow dot and the two holes. Having just checked my others I noticed the W, Germany variation has the same and on closer inspection I can see that the Portugal smurf was from the same mold originally but the W. Germany has been just about erased and Portugal has been added.

IMHO I am not sure that the attendant smurfs with holes were all from the playsets, I am pretty sure they must have been sold seperately as well, maybe ALL or at least many of the W. Germany (and therefore Portugal) cleaners had holes in them so that they could be included with the playset if need be.

Gerda, may I ask what markings your attendant has?

Does anyone have the attendant with W. Germany markings but no holes in his feet? :sherlock:

Thanks Gerda, yep mine with Hong Kong markings sounds the same as yours and has no holes either. :D

Was your smurf in the set originally, I think you mentioned you had them from Germany so it just a little odd the HK smurf in a German set. Sorry I have got my detective hat on now! :D

Yup I'm the original owner, and i kept everything in there like it was..
Here are all the ones in there with there markings..

cleaner.. hong kong..
traffic triangle sign.. w germany
traffic round sign.. west germany
phone.. made in hong kong
mechanic made in hong kong
police officer made in portugal
supers..
car..made in hong kong.. w. Berrie
airplane made in hong kong.
go kart.. made in hong kong.

I never really thought about the markings in this box before, I wonder if it was released in diffrent countries as the box has German, english and another language (not sure which one.. any help?)
I'm off to check the other box now as I'm you got me wondering about that one as well.

What I find most interesting is that I have kept this box together unplayed with and still a couple smurfs ended up with nose or ear rubs from the styrofoam.

I don't have any of these sets yet, only a couple of the mats. Maybe one day but as we all know, these are very hard to get these days. :wishing:

I just noticed something else on the combi sets.. the language is a bit diffrent on them..
number two has english german and (combi-set circulation routiere )language help please..
and number three has english, german and (ensemble schtroumpf ecole) again language help please.

I can not find a date of release on them, but can tell you my mom bought them in 89..
They also list the playset number which until now I never paid attention to
the traffic set is number 4.0702 and the school set is 4.0703 Wonder why they did not show up in any catalog. :-? :-?

Hi Gerda, the third language is French - an exact translation would be road circulation combi-set and smurf school set (I think!), but you get the idea

Otherwise, I am afraid that I don't have any of these sets so can't help any further :( :( :(

The markings on mine are the same, Made in Portugal, yellow dot, no date, and a hole underneath each foot.
