I finally received one of two large packages that left Germany before Christmas. This one had over 150 items (58 were proper fakes) and the rest were made up of regular variations, supers, promos, jigsaw puzzles, squeaky toys, a plush, a cassette, a CD, a little white handbag (lovely :) ), Quartett Cards, a Windmill, Guay Smurfs, Candy Toppers, Kinders and a couple of things that I wasn't really sure of.

Unfortunately some of the markings I requested ended up being similiar but not quite what I asked for which was a bit disappointing...but not as bad as the orange Pom-Pom Sleepwalker that sheds it's own paint when it swims  ......It turned out to be white underneath but after drying the white it turned into yellow as the white paint underneath the orange paint started coming off too. :banghead:

All in all it's a pretty exciting package still and it should be fun sorting through them over the next few days.

Here's a pic of 1 item which is a large Papa Smurf (22.5cm) that I wasn't sure of. It's made of plastic and it's head can be twisted. The markings are Peyo C 1991 IMPS (Brussels) PE. I don't think I have seen it before and I am just wondering what it's meant to be???

There is also another Papa item that I will post a bit later that I wasn't sure of.....anyway, I would appreciate any help with this Papa if anyone can help me.

Hi Andrew, I am gald to hear one of your parcels has arrived, I know how much you were looking forward to them and it sounds like you have some very nice stuff in it to sort through. Can't wait to hear more detail. :-D

I can help with the Papa smurf, in fact I can totally solve the mystery as I have one also with the original sticker intact on his feet. Mine has the same markings as yours although he is not in such a great shape.

He is a (drum roll please............ trrrrrrrrrrrrrr)

SHAMPOO BOTTLE.

I had forgotten how nice it is to be able to actually pick up the smurf and have a look. I was actually suprised to see the sticker when I checked him so it was a new bit of info for me too. :D

That is brillant Rach...thank you sooooooo much for that info. After reading your post I went and pulled Papa's head off (I was hoping this was gonna turn out ok)...and lo and behold there is a lid on top of the torso that unscrews where the shampoo came out of. I can see the traces of the sticker that you have although I didn't think anything of it as it's just a bit of yucky sticky stuff that's remaining now. Now I know how to catalogue this item...thanks so much for checking

Wow thats a serious lot of smurf flesh!!!! I mean new playmates for Syd (notes Rollerskate smurfette!).

Is it end of financial year already??? Does Mrs Dyar allow Syd a smurf budget that if he doesn't spend all then it gets cut back the following year, as it was obviously too much?

Phewph its a good thing Australian money looks like colourful play money or else if we thought it was real.... well..... :D

Mrs Dyar doesn't allow Syd or myself to buy any smurfs unfortunately....I am just not very good at NOT buying smurfs yet......Gerda understands. :D

I have a few things I would like to mention here. The first one is this strange Hiker smurf I received in the package. The front of the shirt and socks are a dark yellow (in comparison to my other variations). The dark yellow goes to the seams on each side where the colour of the shirt & socks change to a bright orange. I can only think of 2 reasons why this is so.

1. The front of the smurf has been faded...although if so it was done perfectly and very neatly so it changes at the seams perfectly.

2. The painter ran out of paint or forgot which yellow he using and used a bright orange instead or for something different.

No idea...again, I would love to hear your opinions as this definately does not look like it was repainted by a faker.

The 2nd matter is that I would love some more help in figuring out what or where this Papa Smurf comes from?

Anyone who has the Comicfiguren Katalog 2002/2003...go to page 137 and look at the fake Papa (no.78) as it is identical to this smurf from the top up except for the shade of blue which is darker. The figure has the same pose except mine is standing on a base type thing and the one in the Katalog looks to be a normal type figure that stands on it's feet. Mine looks like it belongs to something but I amnot sure where or what. If anyone knows or thinks they have seen it before can you please let me know.

Thanks & Happy New Year

Hi Andrew, that is a GREAT haul there, some really nice items. That hiker is interesting isn't it, both of your theories sound plausible. :-D

I don't think I have the Papa you mention so I can't help really I am afraid although if you translate bleistiftfigur from the katalog it becomes pencil figure so I am not really sure what that means. :-?

That is a shame about the orange pom pom sleepwalker, that would have been a lovely find.

Hi Dyar, hi Rachel,

a Bleistiftfigur is usually one of those things you stick on the end of your pencil to make it look good & make your friends envious :) I hade some Mr. Men ones as a kid (in fact they're still in parents' attic) & some in the shape of fruits with faces - typical '70s stuff :o

The bottle mentions 'Kindershampoo' & 'Schaumbad' which is strange as it can't have contained both childrens shampoo & bubble bath at the same time :-?

As always you've got some excellent things there Dyar - and I'm just as jealous as ever :D

They are ok...I keep them although I have never gone out of my way to get them. Were you talking about the large 2002 McD Smurfs or the mini Irwin Poseable ones?

I think I have the set of the 2002 McD smurfs now that I have the Sassette & the Smurfette but I am not 100% sure. I have 6 and that sounds about right. :-?

I am hoping to receive a bigger and much grander package next week which will please Stace, David & Yonna as it features items that I intend to send to them. The package that arrived last week was just from one seller and there were quite a few freebies added in but the next one I am getting is the combination of 26 different sellers from Germany.

I might of already said this but when my friend went to post the big package (that hopefully will arrive next week), the man at the post office said something like..."good lord, what's in here?"...my friend said "it's schlumpfe" and apparently the whole post office laughed as the package is the size of a small house according to my friend. :)

I was hoping it arrived before Christmas as it has my Christmas present with it as well......I am keeping my fingers crossed. This will absolutely definately be my last of the mega big packages like this as I will be saving up to go to the States early next year so all will be quiet on the smurf buying front until after I get back unfortunately. :( ....is there such a thing as a smurf patch?

I spent a fair bit of time trying to get one and have been offered ones that were fakes in the past (undies were painted over). This one has the Peyo C marking on the thigh and no other markings. Any other markings would indicate it was a fake. I know how you feel though as I have been hunting this one for over a year now and if you ask Syd he will say he has been searching for this one since the day he was born...whatever that means.

It's in perfect condition and the price I bought it for was a lot lower than what they usually sell for on ebay. I wouldn't of even come close with the price I paid...it was 18 euros.
