Hi Brad,

I've looked up the translations & put them in brackets after the German titles. Hope it makes some sense

Volume 1:-
01 König Schlumpf / Jokies Medizin (King Smurf / Jokey's Medicine)
02 Sankt Schlumpf und der Drache (St. Smurf And The Dragon)
03 Der Zauberschlumpf / Der Flaschengeist (Sorceror Smurf / The Magical Meanie)
04 Die Schlümpfe und der Heulvogel (The Smurfs And The Howlibird)

Volume 2:-
01 Verhext, verbrüdert und verschlumpft (Bewitched, Bothered, And Besmurfed)
02 Die rosaschlumpfige Brille (Smurf-Colored Glasses)
03 Schlumpfsuppe (Soup A La Smurf)
04 Die große Fusselplage / Es ist nicht alles Gold, was schlumpft (Fuzzle Trouble / All That Glitters Isn't Smurf)

Volume 3:-
01 Schlumpfines Tanzschuhe (Smurfette's Dancing Shoes)
02 Der falsche Schlumpf / Das Kuckucksei im Schlumpfnest (The Fake Smurf / The Baby Smurf)
03 Sir Hefti (Sir Hefty)
04 Abenteuer im Spukschloss / Die Schlümpfe sehen rot (Haunted Smurfs / The Purple Smurfs)
Well your releases are quite similar to ours. They are not in any order either.

Vol1 has King Smurf, Jokey's Medicine, St. Smurf And The Dragon, Sorceror Smurf, and The Magical Meanie. But yours includes The Smurfs And The Howlibird. Ours has The Astrosmurf.

Vol2 has Bewitched, Bothered, And Besmurfed, Smurf-Colored Glasses, and Soup A La Smurf. Yours includes Fuzzle Trouble and All That Glitters Isn't Smurf. Ours has The Smurfs And The Howlibird and Dreamy's Nightmare.

Vol3 has Smurfette's Dancing Shoes, The Fake Smurf, The Baby Smurf. And includes Sir Hefty, Haunted Smurfs and The Purple Smurfs. But ours has ROMEO AND SMURFETTE, ALL THAT GLITTERS ISNT SMURF and FUZZLE TROUBLE.

Those on your vol3, Sir Hefty, Haunted Smurfs and Purple Smurfs are on volume 4 or ours.

So there isn't really much of a difference. Yours will probably skip episodes as well. Are these released yet?

Brad.
it tasted bloody beautiful! I pigged out big time.

Brad.

I've seen the box set of 3 DVDs for sale in one of the big stores here in Frankfurt but I haven't seem them sold separately. Amazon has them for sale too. As I have all these on video cassettes I shan't be buying them. I wouldn't mind if Santa brought them for me though :)

We didn't have any promotion as far as I know for the DVDs...infact I asked some people in the shops and they hadn't even taken much notice of them either. However they must sell ok as I had trouble finding the early ones when I went looking for them and ended up going to about 5 different places to secure the last 4 I needed. We had nothing as far as promotion goes but I would love to get some of these postcards...let me know if you find more of them or other places where they are available as I might treat my friend over there to a meal if he grabs some for me. :)
That reminds me to post this little line that is posted on the official Magna website for the up coming volume 8.

"**Retro appeal and massive awareness mean strong sales. Over 10,000 units of Smurfs sold."

So the smurf titles must be doing well.
Looks like Magna have updated and given their site a layout/design change. http://www.magnapacific.com.au/index.cf ... ord=smurfs

Oops, I missed this the first time round. Maybe you could get this episode dubbed into German for the German market :) I'd buy a copy immediately :) :) Actually the original would do, who needs text anyway :o

Hija Tojo.....do you know how many times I have stared at the screen during a smurf cartoon thinking.....if I could overdub this episode then it would be a lot different......I will do this someday and if I do then I will have to send you a copy. :D

That's something to really look forward to :) :D
Germany / Switzerland (& Austria, I think) are the only countries where Asterix books appear in local dialects (like having versions in scouse or geordie). I have all the ones in Hessisch (the local dialect here) & what's great about them is that the texts are completely different to the original stories & are extremely funny. It would be fantastic if there were Smurf episodes with different, funny texts too

Volume 1! Well done!
I don't know how you can find the smurfs so boring hehe.
I have a good giggle during episodes. Athough there are some eps that I would say are not as 'smurfy' as others. I really don't watch many cartoons anymore. I found the Family Guy and American Dad over the summer tv screening, and I think these are great. Still watch The Simpsons (but only the new eps). That is about it really.

Also in this weeks new TV Week Magazine, Top 10 cartoon characters, The Smurfs come in at number 2!!! I'll scan it in soon.
