Has anyone ever seen this cardboard smurf christmas collectibles display tree? It's cute but it's in an auction with a lot of other displays that I wouldn't want or need :) If no one bids on the lot, maybe I'll ask how much they'd sell just the smurf one for :D

Hi Stace, nice display, I haven't seen one like that before. I wonder if it was for plush smurfs or PVCs? Might be a bit big for PVCs, just can't tell. :-D

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Hi Staci,

I have the Christmas Ornament display that you have mentioned. If I recall correctly, it was a Wallace Berrie item from around 1982, but I would have to dig out the shipping box to be sure. There should also be a green pronged rack that the cardboard tree attaches to. I have posted a picture so you can see what I mean.

Jan,
Thanks for posting that - it looks great with the smurfs hanging on it too :D I doubt this auction has the stand as it looks to be leaning on another cardboard display :???:

It wouldn't hurt to check with the seller Staci. Sometimes parts become separated and are stuffed in a closet or basement and no one knows what they are for. I bought an original box for one of my vintage Barbies off ebay one time and the seller had been using it to store their salt and pepper shakers.

Oh wow!! Salt and pepper shakers in a barbie box :) I will definitely ask if they have the stand -- do you mind if I use your pic as a reference? If you don't want me to use it, I'll just describe the stand to the seller :D

Good luck Stace...that display would be so cool. If they will send it seperately then give them your Sydney address...please :D

Some more great pics and info Jan.....I think we all need to have a Pocket Jan so we can always find out what things are whenever we need to

Dyar

PS - Then you could help push up those rotten keys that hide at the depths of my pockets :)

Always happy to help. Can you imagine what kind of guide book we would have if everyone on the board pooled their knowledge? We'd be rich...and then we could buy all the Smurfs we wanted.

Jan

PS: Would the Pocket Jan be kept in the same pocket as Pocket Lint??

WOW.. I can't imagine walking into a store and seeing that standing by the check out stand.. I think I would faint. Wasn't there a christmas box too for the gold cords?

Strange. I dreamed about that exact thing last night. Only, when I reached for it, my straining fingers couldn't bridge the gap. The harder I stretched, the closer it came, but I never managed to brush it even with my fingertip. like that math puzzle where you keep dividing the distance in half, yet never actually reach zero...

Of course, in my dream, the praying smurfette was a fake. But, what can you do?
