For the unitiated, where is Teneriffe?
It's really not fair. Stepping off the front porch practically makes one an international traveller in Europe. We Americans have to cough up a $1000, go through airport security (though I've heard they're relaxing the rules on nail clippers), and endure 8-16 hours of bad Hollywood movies.
There's always Quebec, I guess. France "Light". The attitude without the sites...

Tenerife is near the North Coast of Africa in the Canary Islands.

It is a year round resort so great for Winter Sun and it gets very hot and humid, and there is volcanic black sand on the beaches!
