I have been going through cataloging my non PVC items and I came across quite a few things that I had forgotten were there. I am going to post 2 pamphlets I have and would like to ask if anyone knows any info about what these pamphlets are talking about?

Here's a programme from the Smurfen Festival 1994

Here's another one...talking about Big Bang Smurf  ...my first thought was to ask Syd but he knows nothing about this. Do you Fram, or anyone else know anything about these pamphlets as I have never heard of them before?

Nice leaflets Dyar, I don't know anything about them I am afraid but I love looking at this type of stuff. There is often hidden information in them to tell us a bit about smurf history and what events have happened in the past relating to them from all over the world. :-D

The second one is for the Parc Walibi Schtroumpf, which was for a while callede Big Bang Smurf (or Schtroumpf), before Walibi bought it or after they sold it (probably the first). I have no more details though.

The first one is for a Smurf festival. I think it is part of the Fristi Comic festival from Koksijde (or Middelkerke: Belgian coast anyway) that moved to Scheveningen afterwards (same sponsor, same kind of lay-out). Scheveningen is a Dutch seaside resort.

Thanks Fram...I had heard of Walibi but didn't know it had names before/after....that's good to know. I thought of Walibi as it was the only theme park I knew of like this but I couldn't find that name anywhere on the pamphlet.

I like the sponsor in the second one "Ola" (I think)...we have that here but with the name "Streets"...it looks so bizarre with a different name on that trademark.

I am still cataloging all of the non PVC stuff and I came across a jigsaw puzzle that seller sent me as a bonus item earlier this year. I had never tried to put all of the pieces together as the seller said that their were pieces missing when they sent it. There was no box ofpicture for me to go off so I started sorting through the edge pieces and got alittle worried when I ended up with 7 corners....I thought ok...there's obviously bits and pieces from at least 2 different puzzles here. Anyway they turned out to be 2 small puzzles with a couple of pieces missing from each...here's the pics:

There was another smurf item I found that I had no idea where it comes from...I will need someone's help once again. It looks like it comes from a game or something.... :-?

Thank you

They are ASS (the cards brand) puzzles. There are four of those small ones with pictures of the PVC Smurfs, and four similar ones with drawings. They have also lots of larger puzzles (both with drawings and pictures of PVC Smurfs), up to 320 pieces I think. I have a few as well, also incomplete though (but with the box!).

Thanks Fram...where would we be without you :D

That's handy to know as I can now catalogue them properly...thanks again

Dyar

The plastic smurf is from the talking smurf village. The bottom is a type of record that when put into the house it says a smurfy phrase. I beleive these came in three diffrent forms, village, papa's lab and smurfettes house.
heres a link to an auction you can see the smurf you have

Thanks Gerda...that was great to learn where this came from...I can't even remember from where I got my one from...hang on..yes I do...it came in a lot of smurfs featuring Hardees Skateboards among other things not that long ago.

Thanks to you and & Fram for your replies :D

I wouldn't mind getting some more puzzles Attom...there does seem to be a ton of them out there and over time I will probably pick up a few more of them. I have been offered another jigsaw puzzle for free from a nice seller....here's a pic of some bonus items that the seller is giving to me for free including the jigsaw puzzle....it's to do with those nice fakes I mentioned in the PM.

I have thought of doing a Puzzle section in the Uncatalogued forum (I may have started it once, can't remember). It would have been huge...

Do you have a lot of the puzzles yourself Fram?

I was looking through the American smurf book "Unauthorised Guide to Smurfs Around the World" and was surprised at how many different puzzles there were....it might be really interesting to gather them all in one place and see what they came out with.....I think they are at least a section many of us here wouldn't know a lot about.

Postby Rachel » Sun Oct 23, 2005 3:14 am
That would be a great idea guys. Fram, I do vaguely remember you mentioning doing a thread for this in the past. I agree there are tons of fab items that would fall into this catergory, I have a couple of things that I will check later but I haven't actively gone out to collect them.

At the Schtroumpf Passion I was amazed just how many of these puzzles exist and as Dyar mentiones ther are great examples in the "Unauthorised Guide to Smurfs Around the World" but not much info on them elsewhere. :D

I have a bunch of puzzles in my collection too, I could add what I have to the thread, it would be neat to see what is all out there in the smurf puzzle world.

I think I have fifty or sixty, but I'm not certain (I have a lot of other figures as well, and I may be mixing the total number with the Smurfs alone number). I know that I still miss loads of them...

I think I have fifty or sixty

That is quite a collection Fram

It would be great if we could see some of those...I didn't realise that there were THAT many.....you sound like you have a phenomenon amount.....well done

Postby Fram » Mon Oct 24, 2005 1:54 am
Yeah, well, some of them are only variations (yep, in the Puzles as well). There is e.g. a nice series of six puzzles from Clementoni, which were issued in an older style box and a newer style box. I have 6 of the old and 4 or so of the new ones, so that's already 10.
They are mostly packed away, I'll see if I can make a few pics soon.
