Thanks everyone. Those photos I took at the beginning of the year. You can't really see all the smurfs as I decided it was going to be too much of a task to take each of them out of their tagged bags and then trying to put them back in after. It actually looked amazing when I spread them out over the dinner table. The photos don't do it justice really.
I actually have my supers counted in my 252. So taking them out my total goes down a bit. As before the internet and any way of identifying smurfs, I didn't know these supers were different. So I always counted them. And all of the ones that I've picked up over the years are all missing their accessories. But I finally brought my first two MINT box supers from David Jones last month. I think when I start buying more of these from DJ, I will not count them and will probably remove the supers from my count. It's just a little hard to do that lol going back down on my count. That would mean I haven't quite made 250 yet
And I have books, colouring books, soft toys, cups, badges, pez, the 1996 new smurfs, cds, records, puzzles, games, mc donald toys, bean bag, quilt/pillows, kinders, erasers, sockels, dvds, buildings, etc... heaps of stuff. Even a dog bowl lol!! And at the time I didn't even have a dog. So I've mostly given up on buying every smurf item I see.
My Giant Smurf measures 134cm (around 52 inches). My prized smurf possession! Brought him for 2 dollars back in 95/96/or 97?? from a market. I recently managed to find out some info on this fello when one of these was listed on oz ebay this year. These smurfs have no tags so there is still a lot I don't know about him, like where he was made and if he was officially licensed. I managed to find out where he came from. These were sold (and were game prizes) around the country (Australia) at the royal shows. The auction for this toy earlier this year went for $200au. After that sell, another one surfaced on ebay.. this seller must have seen the price on that other one and listed his for a starter 200.... it didn't sell. If you brought one of these, the postage would be the killer. So I can account for at least 3 of these smurfs still left in OZ. If these were exclusive for us?? I don't know. I've never seen one this size listed on the American ebay. I just wonder how many more are out there that have survived the years.
I don't seem to have my photos of my giant smurf up online now, but here was another I had up online:
Brad.
