Yep that's okay Steve....I will help you to become more confused...lol.....only joking, feel free to contact me anytime and I will do my best to untangle your brain......I didn't realise there were so many variations whenever I start these reports either....they just seem to manifest when I look a bit closer at them.....and hopefully that makes you guys have a closer look at your collections too.

Hi Steve

The old green cottage is a tricky one as I have a few different yellow ones from an unpainted to yellow ones with blue paint on them....it depends on what edition of smurf house it is...whether CE or earlier.

The new Smurfettes House has a dark yellow (unpainted) Butterfly.

The new blue cottage has a light blue (unpainted) Butterfly.

I hope that helps

It should be a yellow Butterfly with blue paint Steve.

This butterfly should be lighter yellow as the new Smurfette Cottage has a darker (unpainted) Butterfly that is almost orange and clearly different.

Let me know how you go

Ive just checked and i have the yellow buterfly with blue paint to go with the green cottage. Hopfully Karen has got the orangish yellow, and light blue one to sort the other cottages out. Fingers crossed. :D I have 2 red cottagges old and new sort of they are a bit mixed up and not compleate. :( The old one is missing the old door and frame, in its place is a new one. The newer red one has got an old white base instead of the yellowish one. Hopfully i will be able to get them somewear down the line unless i just buy some new cottages. :-? Thanks for the info Dyer it was a great help. :-D :-D :-D

Excellent review Dyar! One addition / question concerning the old small cottages: how about cottages with grey heart-shaped-window doors? In the first message these are only mentioned in brown, but they do come also in grey. Does anyone happen to know the correct combination(s) for these?

Hi Pauli

Yes, these are very old reports now and we all have learnt so much more since these were first posted.....they really should be re-done with everyone's help me thinks.

It was initially used as a process of learning about them just from the cottages I had in my collection pretty much and we all know no one can have everything out there (despite us all trying at times)...but by doing these reports we got to learn a lot more from everyone's contribution like your own Pauli so you made a good point.

I don't know the actual combinations of these but it would be great to know....and they can so easily be removed and swapped around with each other to make many numerous variations if you wanted so I try to focus more on the roofs and the individual pieces I don't have.

Yep! So should the reports be edited to include the confirmed butterfly info plus other things that have come up e.g. the grey heart door mentioned above? I'm sure there are collectors on this forum who have original cottages from their childhood, and can confirm atleast some combinations not listed in your report. Maybe you should make an open query, as we have quite an excellent chance to collect first hand info here!!! ;)

Just a suggestion :) I'd just sooooo much like to know all the original combinations myself. There are 64 different possible combinations even if slight roof colour variations and butterflies are ignored (and assuming window frames always go in pairs), but it is certain that only some of these were really released.
