Hello All!

My name is Brandon. I'm 42 and I've been collecting since I saw my first smurf in my best friend's sister's room when I was six.

In my youth I had aunts who lived in Germany and they would send me smurfs for my collection. By 1987 I had nearly 200. Unfortunately my house burned and it was a total loss.

I began acquiring smurfs again about 15 years ago when ebay was in its infancy. I wasn't very informed about smurfs other than knowing what I had previously owned. When I got married I placed most of my smurfs in storage until I had a large enough home to display them.

Now I am 42 and have just moved back to Tennessee from Atlanta, Georgia to raise my 8 month old son. I have recently acquired a beautiful display case and decided to re-ignite my passion for smurf collecting and I hope to pass it on to my son as well. Note that I'm an avid collector of many things including comics and coins and cards.

My goal is to build a special collection; one that wows people with hard to find items that provide that "I want that!" moment we've all had when we see something new we don't have in our own collections. I'm educating myself on musters and as a internet content specialist, I think there are fare too few resources and articles on smurfs, especially the collector's items and hard to find ones!

I've already learned so much about the historical smurfs and musters, but I still don't know why some are more expensive than others. I'm excited to be an active member of the smurf collecting community.

Thanks,

Brandon

Thanks. So the collection is moving to its own display case. I'm excited. They are such a conversation starter. People see my super hero statues and get it, but the smurfs always bring a personal tale from the people who see them.
