Ok this is the third time I tried to answer this from my smartphone. All the times it says I have to log in to be able to post:(((((

Hi Arno,

99% of the time I use my smartphone when I visit internet and this forum.

The new design makes this very much harder on my smartphone. Looks good on the computer though. :) before the new design it looked very good and was easy to use.

Now for example a post looks like this. The post is: " Hi Karen, she looks lovely. I like this version."

But with a lot of other information that post takes 2 pages on my smartphone. And because of that it takes ages to go through one thread. :(((

Maybe it is just my smartphone??? Or that I have to get used to tjis format? :)))))

Maybe I just need to get used with it.

One good thing is that I did not had to resize the pictures??

Why does they keep login me out when I am writing??

I have to copy everything unless I want to rewrite it all the time??

I'm still here but I rarely have something to add :-? I do read all of the posts though. I occasionally visit facebook but get annoyed at all of the posts there (I don't mean the smurf forum posts) about which cake someone has just baked, which baby's nappy has just been changed, etc etc :o  And I really don't like the confusing format of facebook. That's why I prefer to visit the forum here

The best thing with the forum is that it is easy to search for old information compared to Facebook. Therefore the variations threads are fantastic. :D

Kath, you did a great job continuing what I started!!! :-D

I'm not particularly found of this new design look either.
Took me a while to find out that, that the thread didn't stop when the table/box ended, but that now it's a new (& huge!) box for every single new msg...

Don't know why, but nowadays upgrade seems to equal new design, even if you don't want a new design and are happy with the old one! It's driving me nuts! It's like "oh, new upgrade for security reasons and new improved features, and now I need to learn a 'new program'!"

Well, I never use smartphone because it is too small and slow for me.
On my computer the new design forum looks not so different and I used to it. It is a reality that, in our world, what remains "old" is slowing dying ; well, the difference is that things get old in some months, not some decades !
Anyway I hope to read from you more often.

Unfortunately, the upgrade was an absolute necessity to keep the forum running. I have been very concerned that we end up losing the forum because we were constantly running into issues with the old phpBB (outdated since 2007), we kept running out of space so that pictures had to be manually uploaded to Photobucket and then retied to the forum manually, and we also were not able to have new members sign up by themselves.
All of that is fixed now with the upgrade and a new web host (the old one would not respond to any issues I was reporting), and while we lost our old look, I think this is more than made up by the fact that the behind the issues are finally resolved and the forum is save and the information on it will not be lost.

Many members are now on Facebook and post stuff on there, some also are no longer very actively collecting or well...life sometimes has a way of coming in between you and your hobbies which is what happened in my case. I am still around, but I honestly don't have much to add right now as I am not actively collecting unless new PVCs are released.

I am however thankful for all of you who still come to visit and especially for those who still post...you are the ones who keep this forum alive :thansk:

I don't use Facebook, I do visit here somewhat regularly but have very little to add these days as my focus is not really on Smurfs right now. Busy with work and life and other hobbies. There are too few hours in a day!

Hi everyone,

I'm still around but life has been getting in the way of my Smurfing activities.

I still login weekly to our forum on my iPad. I also keep some of my duplicate smurfs at work on my desk and I've started educating my colleagues.

Cheers,
Jo
