I don't know if its playing it safe...especially with so many smurfs coming out...Its all marketing. I think they are trying to latch onto the olympics and the excitement there. If they release them in January people might not care as much for them when the Olympics start. I just hope in 2013 that they release some in January again. I hope May hasn't turned into the new smurf release date though.

My guess is that they will release them in May in 2013 also, because they want the same thing as you pointed out about the olympics.

In 2013 the smurfmovie 2 is scheduled to be shown in august. This means just like with the olympics the closest releasemonth before that is in May( Schleich only has new releases in January, May and september). So I think you are absolutly correct TrackerSmurf, about the reason for later releasedates.

Though off course I would like to have them in my hands already in January!!
