And it seems they intentionally made the sportsmurfs for the olympics and that is a very very good way to promote them, right?? Just keep my fingers crossed for olympic logos, teamcolours, promos etc!!

Doesn't Schleich release new figures every year in January, May, September and December?

The Movie smurfs were released in May of 2011, so if they push the release of the 2012 to May it would put them one year after the last release....

I am very disappointed...reading this little piece shows again how little regard Schleich has for smurfs

Meaning, Schleich will put their main focus in January on their most important group of figures which is the World of Nature

Let's hope the delay is as Simon said due to the Olympic license and those smurfs will be officially licensed by the Olympics..and the delay is not due to Schleich putting less and less efforts and money into their smurfs

Lets hope Maureen, it has to do with the dates for the movie and the olympics.

Maybe they wants to release the smurfs, in both these cases, close to the "mainattraction" connected to the release???

Schleich has releases in january, may and september. And maybe 2013 the smurfs will be released in january again??? But then maybe the smurfmovie2 will be shown in august?? So again May is a likely month for them in 2013 also!!

Well, I am still looking forward getting these new sportsmurfs!! I can wait for them!!

Maureen, Yes I do think it's sad that schleich pushes the smurfs back but from a sales point I think the animals are there best sellers, I know around here there are lots of different stores that carry the schleich animals so they are more known, but it is sad for the smurfs, Again a bad marketing decision made by imps to not push the smurfs more
