Yes, they are pretty expensive..I want to get the three for $25.00 but haven't decided on the buildable smurfs yet...may get one and dress it with the clothes I like most.

I am convinced that these will be "easy" pick ups on future yardsales..and I am also hoping that they will be on sale once the movie is no longer in the theaters :-?

Spoke to the manager at our build a bear. She took my number and had the regional manager call me.
What i was told:
1. The smurfs are a limited item that will not be available once they are sold out.
2. They are not available in all stores only selected stores.
3. The seperate clothing items are also limited at the moment, but she cant say whether they will become part of the everyday clothing range.

I hadn't even heard of build-a-bear until 3 days ago when I visited a shopping mall in Frankfurt & if I'd have read this post before I would have checked out whether they have any smurfs. Oh well...

They didn't have any displays in the windows so perhaps they didn't have any smurfs anyway.

Hi Tojo

I thought i was the only one who never heard about this.
Just looked on the site, but not one in Holland...............not one even close :???:

Good luck for everyone who's going to visit a shop.

same here! I'd never heard of Build a Bear before. Don't think they have them here in Aus. Have to say, I love plush smurfs but these ones don't tickle my fancy actually. If they were available here in the shop I'd walk in and buy them but I'm not really interested to grab these. I'll stick with the jakks pacific plush... they look so much nicer.

There is a German website for the smurfy items & you can win a smurf too - I've entered the competition of course :) :)

I love them

You can ask them to really stuff it rock hard.
Besides the clothing, you can also have a sound box put into your smurf.

I had a field day there for my birthday.

Why is that strange man in the above photo wearing a Gender t-shirt? Is he confused?

Dyar

PS: I love the Build-A-Smurf thingies. I even got to stick a heart inside mine......I did ask the nice lady if I could swap the heart for a couple more smurfs and a lot of the clothing they were selling in the store but she escorted me out of the shop and would only deal with Staci. Some people are strange.

Just found out there are Build a Bear stores in Australia but none here in SA. There are stores in NSW, Victoria & QLD. Smurfs are coming in stock 12th August (today).

I'm not too worried. I personally think the build a bear smurfs look odd. Especially Smurfette. And they are expensive. Looking on the website they are selling for $30AU. I don't mind the small plush ones but I think the jakks pacific plush are so much nicer.

You could be right Brad. I have the B-a-b ones & yesterday I bought the Jakks ones so I'll have to compare them together.

Totally agree Brad. The b-a-b are a little strange looking compared to the JP :D

I'm hoping that I get some Xmas money so that I can visit the shop again & get the Smurfette & if they have him, the Papa. I might also get some of the smurfy clothes for Smurfette.
