It's very exciting! It will actually be the most beautiful peice of Smurf-works you've ever seen! There has been SO much research that has gone into it! I'm sure Smurfers will do cartwheels when they see it!! :)

Have you seen it Alan??

Is it a book like "anywhere´s a playground" or like the book about Peyo?

Do you know if a lot is about figurines or mostly about other smurfrelated things???
André

In Sweden the smurfs are blue ( and yellow).

Thank you for sharing, Alan.

Hope you don't mind me putting a quote on here, so it's not lost once other announcements are coming out later on :D
BREAKING NEWS

The SCC has received the following very exciting news from our Smurfy friends! A major Smurf world publication like never before is coming in 2011! Enjoy everyone!! You heard it here first!

Timed for publication with Sony Pictures Animation’s major motion picture release of The Smurfs (August 2011), "The World of Smurfs" will celebrate the history of these beloved characters and charts their trajectory from a comic strip in Belgian magazine Spirou, to the iconic Hanna-Barbera cartoon series, to much sought-after collectibles, to the Hollywood box office and beyond. Along with full-color images throughout, a generously sized hardcover format, and whimsical design touches, The World of Smurfs will feature approximately eight interactive items — ephemera such as sketches, stickers, animation cels, and comics.”
Will this be available as a limited edition or will it be available world-wide?

I am also moving this thread to the smurfy news section..since..well it's smurfy news :winks:

Crikey, I nearly posted this a week ago..glad I didn't now. At least one smurfy forum member has been interviewed for inclusion in the book ;)
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

That will be fun Steve. Maybe it has to do with that you are in the Guiness book of records??

Do you know who is making this book? Peyo? Smurfsellers? Sony pictures?? :-?

It's in association with Sony, but literally includes everything re figures. Remember our discussion about Kelloggs!

Can't say a lot more, but more will be released at Smurf Collectors Club soon!

Thanks Steve!

It's not just that however, I've had emails from them saying that we are not allowed to talk about it bar the press release that BSCC got. Hopefully you've heard the same by now. Thanks anyway.

I know that we'll get more info soon! Regarding this and others!
