I was excited to see your collection on the collectors. I also saw the Kinder Supprise collection and hit my husband when I saw the sumrs there as well.
There was a staory a few months ago on collectors that had a man who collected radios and transitors and he had a Smurf one there as well.
So will your collection be shown in the Colletors magazine that they release quarterly?

hello, yeah at the time of filming my collection they had just been to the Kinder Surprise collector the day before here in SA. And they said they'd filmed some shots of the kinder smurfs. So when watching her video on Collectors I was waiting to see her smurfs. Those soccer ones. Also you can spot a maxi plush smurf in another shot. Great collection. And yes I did see the radio collector with the smurf head radio. I have one of those. I don't think they'd feature me in the magazine. I have only brought 1 issue and that was only because it did have smurfs in. I was flicking through the mag at the ABC shop and saw some smurfs and brought it. Only was a small blurb with the photo from an antique shop in Melbourne I think it was.

never received a reply about obtaining that other ABC Sydney radio interview oh well.

I don't get the point, why they didn't feature you in the mag. I sincerely hope that they change their mind.

I don't think they really feature collectors in the magazine. at least not the one I saw I don't think there were any collectors from the show in it. But I just noticed last night on the Ezydvd website a listing for a pre-order on a "Collectors" DVD. Called "Collectors - Playtime". Release date for December 3rd. And the listing says:

"This is a exploration of the wonderful collections of toys, scale models, dolls, figurines, games, sporting memorabilia, and pass-times that have featured on ABC TV's hit Friday night show, Collectors. From pinball machines, barbies, action figurines and the ultimate range of lego, the people and the stories behind these collections offer a fasinating insight into Australian society."

I wonder if I'll make it onto this dvd if its all about toys? Will have to wait and see.

its funny how often I spot a smurf on the Collectors show in someone elses collection. Last nights show had a collector who had over 9 thousand keyrings hanging from his ceiling. Very impressive! And in one of the shots there was a smurf keyring! I've attached a capture.

some not so good news about the ABC show Collectors I was on. The show has been canceled until further notice. This happened on Friday the day which the show screens. They've pulled the show off air from that night. What has happened is the host of the show has been charged with accessing child pornography. A real shock... such a great show & he is an excellent host. So they've pulled the show completely off air, they've deleted all the content off their website (my video segment has gone for now). Until further notice... I'm guessing this could mean the end of the show. Very disappointing. My boss was actually the one who told me on Friday, he called the office during the day to speak to me to tell me that he just heard the show that I was on had been canceled. I had to check the news to confirm because I didn't really believe it.

good news, the Collectors show is returning next month but minus the host. They are re-filming episodes & cutting him out of the show.
