thanks for finding and posting the pic!!

I think I like the previous poster of the CGI smurf better than this. Doesn't look quite right, but it probably would look better in colour than this B&W shot. Why did they have to make the smurfs look realistic... Hopefully we will get to see the trailer for the smurfs movie sometime this year and more information on cast etc soon.

Hi everyone.

Not been on since xmas. What a naughty boy I am.

I think it's his eyes. If you look at the CG scooby doo it's the same deal. Sort the eyes out and I'd take one home with me.

Who am I kidding?

more smurf movie news with more casting details:

GRACE (Major Supporting Role): 26-35 years old. A first-time expectant mother, she's faced with juggling both an overworked husband and, ultimately, a household full of Smurfs. Should be lovely, maternal and have good comedic energy.

ODILE (Major Supporting Role): Late 20's to mid-40's. Foreign: European (French, Spanish, Italian), British, Latin American, French Canadian, etc. A beautiful, charming (when she wants to be), high-powered executive. She runs a high-end French cosmetics company. Strong comedic ability essential.

plus also something about a location being used to film the smurfs movie:

Kaufman Astoria has been the home of "Sesame Street" since 1992 and is currently being used to film the new "Smurfs" movie, to be released in 2011.

I want to see in animation first, because from the still picture I have to say that I don't like the way they built him.

The eyes are a bit off, but I think they did a really great job on him. 8)
