:? OOPS!! I went over my budget for smurfs on eBay this month (the budget was 50.00 LOL!!) by about 250.00, and now my husband is kind of mad.... lol

He just doesn't get the smurfs thing, he says he could understand if they were actually worth something!

Anyone else have this kind of situation with their partner??? :-?

I never had debts, but talking about problems in relationship, caused by smurfs, I dare say that my parents think one of each normal/super/special smurf figurine should be enough. But I'm crazy for variants. :? :)

Oh it hasn't put me in debt, just he doesn't understand how little cute blue people could be so distracting you lose count of how much you spent! LOL!!

Ebay is very tempting for me....I always tell myself that I'm just going to look. I have limited myself to $20 a month for smurfs which is very hard because there isn't much that I don't already have that's under $20 :)

Yeah I try to do the limit thing as well, but like you the ones I don't have are always above my limit!! LOL!! :)

I'm lucky in that I earn a good wage so that Mrs Tojo doesn't complain athough she does roll her eyes at me :) :)

I try to limit my spending to 2 or 3 large buys a year & then some smaller ones. I've already had 2 large buys this year so should be able to get away with a third..... :)

That is not exactly why I got rid of my wife. But it was the start of the decline of our relationship. She never really complained about my buying. But she wanted a bathroom installed in the basement and I didn't know how to make it happen, the drain was a big problem. Instead of saving up the money to pay someone else to do it. I would buy her things and my step daughter Smurfs. It took me a long time to realize I was buying them for myself more than her. Glad they are all gone, I don't have anyone to answer to. Well maybe Max, he does command a lot of attention but not things.

I get in trouble all the time. I actually have monthly smurf payments going out to smurfs I already have. I try to tell Robert that they are worth something and if I ever sold them we would get some of our money back but then he says "like I would ever sell them" (he's got a point) Non smurfers don't get it,

Think my wife is a closet Smurfette as she has a smurfette keyring, etc. , gets called Mrs Smurf when we are out which she likes and takes an interest in my new Smurf purchases, (must admit I sometimes bend the truth and say I didnt pay a great deal for them!), or she may be just very understandable/tolerant, must be after 30+ years with me . Anyhows .. choice between a new bathroom and Smurfs .. no competition. :-D

:-? I'm thinking a romantic weekend away would be nice to Belgium, Ghent maybe? somewhere around the second weekend in November. Not quite sure how I am going to explain that there may be a Smurf event down the road once we are there. :banghead: but I'm working on it!
