Tomorrow is the 4th of July and my company gave us today off as well. I hate it. Normal TV through the day time is really lame in my opinion. I would rather be at work. I guess for me because I am always meeting new people everyday is why I like to be at work. I love to meet new people as well as see the one's I already know again. I pride myself on remembering names.

Seems to me that you need a hobby to do at home, Bill (besides colllecting smurfs ;) )
If I had to watch TV (and I mean what's on TV, not on my dvds) all day, I probably would be bored to death too. Luckly I have my dvds, and a bunch of hobbies I enjoy doing... my problem is not having enough time to do them.

Being partial owner of my family's business, we have really been hit hard this year with the economy. We have lost more clients this tax season than in our 20+ history so it's really obvious for us. But thankfully, I am a saver as well as collector but I am not really looking too much at smurfs lately unless it's something extremely specific. I am unfortunately spending my savings on other more important things so I guess it has inadvertantly affected my collecting :-? I missed my vacation this year and I'm going crazy over it - not sure how you do it Bill but there are a lot of people like you out there...glad I'm not one of them :) :) (Just kidding!) At least I get my vacation in two weeks (finally :!: )

I don't know if I can explain this. People have always told me I needed to take my vacation. About a year and a half ago I got my renewal for my cars license and the same time I got my statment for my insurance. I hadn't driven the car in about two months. I got to thinking why am I paying for this thing to just sit there. The renewal was $50 and insurance was $56 but taken out of my checking acct. I have a company car and while I can't just get in it and go somewhere after work I am allowed to go to the store or get something to eat. So I sold the car. When I was married I think I took one vacation and we drove down to Arkansas. I know a guy that has a treasure map that was made in 1797 somewhere down there is $10,000 that was stolen in Little Rock and burried on his property. I was going to try to go find it. We didn't find it though not the right time of the year. Actually it was but it was too hot. We believe the money is in a cave and it has to be really cold so the cave will frost the ground outside it. The treasure was worth over 4 million 30 years ago. Don't know today.

Yea would have been better if we had found it. I said 4 million dollars but that was just the lowest it could have been. The cheapest coin from 1793 to 1797 selling at that point was $4,000 but there would have had to be 1,000 coins to make 4 million dollars. I don't know what is there but I doubt that all the coins are ten dollar gold pieces. There had to be a combination of all kinds of coins. Most people in that day made a few dollars a month.

Well Well Well I just got a pleasent supprise. One of my quartly statments came in today. I got two others yesterday, but haddn't opened them yet. I was afraid see the news. Well Max made it a little easier for me. I was in the other room and could hear a paper tearing noise. I came into the living room and there stood Max close to the door but I didn't see anything so I went back in the other room. I could hear it again. I walked back in the living room and still didn't see anything. I walked over to the door and there was a mess of shreaded paper. Max had taken the mail out of the mail slot and was tearing it up. I started picking up the mess which only the outside envelope was distroyed and looked at the top piece of paper. It was one of the quartly statements. I had made two hundred dollars in the quarter. I then opened the other two I made 2 thousand dollars on each of them. Whoo Hoo.

I have to admit that earlier in this thread I said that my 401k was shrinking. I just assumed that it was. Because everyone elses was.
