I was asked a question through my website if $24.95 was too much to pay for the smurfette. At first I thought YES but then after trying to find her on ebay and even some of the smurf stores I find it's not that far off on price. (if the stores even have her) Why is she so expencive when the baby smurf bathing (448) usually runs you cheaper than that and that one is in production for less time than the disco smurfette :-? Did I miss something here or are people just fasinated with her :? :-?

I don't know the answer to that one. I think I found her really easily and got her before the disco smurf. :-? I'm sure I didn't pay that price for her either!

I wouldn't pay that much either, but patiently wait for her to show up on ebay as she does show up once in a while..( I am well aware that for me to tell others to wait patiently is the same as Gerda telling us to stop buying smurfs :o )

I have a feeling that the disco smurfette only went into limited production in the US and is rarer over here than the bathing baby, which I found quite easy to get. I had like 10 of that baby at one time, but never more than one or two of the disco smurfette. I have seen her quite regularly on Australian and, I think, British ebay ... at least when I was checking on there for smurfs.

I had a hard time finding this one as well and that was a couple of years ago but I didn't pay very much for her when she popped up, maybe a few dollars. So that price is too high I think if the person has the patience to wait and look for her. :cheer:

I brought mine back in 99/2000 through the short lived Australian smurf club. I remember she was one of the few I brought through the club. But they sourced the smurfs from overseas. Its only been in the last 2 years that I finally got her partner the disc smurf. I think the disc smurfette is rarer. It was never released in Australia. Looking at Toy Dreamers, Andrew has her for 29AU. So I guess the value is sort of spot on Gerda. I think the smurfettes have become rarer (in the coupled themes like these) than their counterpart smurf like the snow boarder smurfette for example. She has become rare while the snowboarder smurf hasn't.

Well, I have managed to add her to my collection, and as you know I don't pay more than 4€ for a regular... however, I do notice that she doesn't show up as often as others...

I remember that I saw both disco smurf & disco smurfette for 3,25 € each at Frans drugstore last year, but I wouldn't expect disco to be valuable more than 20 €. I know that all of the 1995 series has definitely become more valuable, since many people didn't buy that series at the time when it had been released.
