While being on my way to Manni the other week, I happened to meet two ladies, who were talking about a very huge private fleamarket on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of a coal miner housing estate on Friday, I have known for many years. I just couldn't believe that, until I was coming across an ad, confirming that. Thank God, Manni will be staying at my place, since we are going to visit some friends in Belgium tomorrow plus my classes finish at 2 pm cet. Another bonus is that I'm having a one week holiday. (Oh :yay: :D)

Here's the English translation:

Once of a lifetime opportunity! It's the 100th anniversary of coal miner housing estate Txxxxxxxxxx and a thousands inhabitants are yard selling. This is the biggest private yard sale in a very lovely coal miner estate settlement on May 29th from 3 -6pm.

I just can't wait to spend a whole afternoon with Manni at such a neat place. Thus, I would ask you to cross your fingers for me. :fingers:

I promise to write a full report and show you some pics in some eleven days time.

Love,
D.

Hope you find lots of smurfs! I noticed it was from 3 - 6 pm, are your yardsales usually in the afternoons there? In New Hampshire, you have to get out of bed before dawn as they usually start around 7 am!

Yea but if you are the one having it they will be knocking at your door at 6 am, or comming by the night before. :) :)

cherry "hello"
Why that particular flavour? :-? :o

You are right Bill! We had a yardsale today and people were showing up 2 hours before it began! And towards the end of the day people weren't even bothering to get out of their cars, they would just drive by and look out the car window! I think I should invent a Drive Thru Yardsale :)

Thats all we need people talking on cell phones and looking for bargans off to the side. :) :) Rear end city.

I was driving about 100 miles from home today so I was thinking about the drive through garage sale. I could just see Moey Going through a drive through garage sale and seeing some Smurfs on a table up ahead. There was a car in front of her so she just pushed it out of the way to get to them. :o :o :) :) :)

I think you are confusing me with Gerda, Bill :o :) :) :)

I'd stop right where I am, no matter how many cars are behind me :D

Actually, when I go to the 127 yardsale by the end of the day I am usually so tired that I kind of drive slowly by the stands and look what they have  and I am not the only one

I am seriously thinking about going all the way up to Ohio this year and do the whole thing..with all the smurfs coming out this year, I have a feeling that a lot of people will remember they have smurfs and this could be an interesting yardsale this year :-D

Is that the yardsale that goes across 3 states? I think I've seen a show on tv about that one. It looks like so much fun!

Postby Smurfysmurf » Mon Jun 01, 2009 5:25 pm
Actually four states, Norma :D

It starts in Ohio, goes thru Kentucky, Tennessee down to Alabama along Highway 127 which goes right thru Dunlap which is where I live so it's always a big deal for us around here

That would be so much fun! I enjoyed watching it on tv, I hope they do another show on it this year. Maybe you can video some of it?

I thought about Gerta and Staci too but you are the one that stuck in my mind the most. I know you or none of them would actually do that, but it was just a day dream anyway. Kind of funny note also. Almost all of my night dreams for the last few years have me flying or floating around. I wonder if that means anything.
