Just so you know, Steve, we want to see pictures as soon as this special smurf arrives

Thanks Maureen  I am SOOO happy to have finally completed the basic collection, it's been hard going, but I couldn't have done it without some members on here, the fairs and a good amount of luck on ebay :)

Yay - I've finally completed the basics  (sorry, couldn't resist that last party..normal service will resume shortly)
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Congratulations Steve! I'm as close as I will ever be to completing my basic set. I know I'll never get #20219 through 20221. :( So I'm starting to branch out into some of the variations and the fakes now! :-D

I never say never but I think it's unlikely I'll ever have those either :(

That's what I used to say and nobody was more suprised than me when I ended up with them :-D

Do you buy smurfs on ebay, Norma? If so, I am sure you will find those missing ones one day for a very affordable price...with smurfs it usually pays to be patient...so I have been told at least..I am not really known for being patient :o :-?

Maureen, I have bought some things off of Ebay lately. I know how hard it is to be patient but your right it pays off in the end. I never thought I would get #20186 baseball smurfette but I managed to get a very beat up one off of Ebay many years ago. Even in her sad shape I was very happy to get her.!

Postby steveparkes » Thu May 28, 2009 11:24 pm
Thanks all, I never say never like Tojo too. I never thought I'd get some of the smurfs I have, but patience..a whole lot of saving, and a visit to a smurf fair can bring wonders :D

@Steve: I will celebrate your completion of the basics, your bday and the bday of my late Granny Anna, who was introducing me to the heavenly blue world of smurfs. She would have been 94 years this Sunday and I still miss her around. :(

@Tojo: I haven't complete my basics yet, but I hope to complete them by next autumn, so that I'll have them, before I turn 31. :) :) :) If, however it doesn't come true, I won't be bothered. We have all the time in the worlds and variations and blue orphans are much than welcome to my place. (Oh my, I shouldn't think about my 30th birthday next Feb, but I'm feeling much younger and still I wouldn't miss every single moment of my life.)

@Norma: Never say never. I never thought of getting some really neat and very rare variations, until I managed to pick them up along with a baseball pitcher for 2 Euros at the last sisters fair. :D Just wait a little and you will be surprised to find them. You might spot smurf lots frequently on ebay.

Anyway let's have a party, folks.  :cheerz: :band:
