Ok here is some of the picture I took at the macys Thanksgiving Day Parade . I have to say we took the train at 4:30 in the morning I cant belive I got up at the time I did t. Then when we arived in the city there was like a million people !! The street we were down had the one tree in the city aside form the park so my pictures were a little disappointing . Also the whole time my husband complained he was not eating turkey for this lol !!!

It was pretty cool . I am pretty sure they will be using the balloon next year . My husbands friend from work his wife and daughter helped with carrying the balloon (the mcdonald one ) but they had practiced with the smurf one the week before I wish I would have know because they practice close to my home .I would have got a lot better pictures !

I am not sure if the story qualifies as a smurf story, but I thought it was an odd place anyway :) :)

They kept mentioned Papa Smurf .... (name left off) during Thursday night's Honor night at our local HighSchool. One of the town leader's and most respected citizens had 'earned' the name a long time ago because he took care of everybody and also looked a bit like Papa Smurf :)

Along the same note as the papa smurf mention,

I was watching bridal wars and the guy refered the girl as a smurf when her hair got turned blue. It's funny to see smurfs being refered to in more tv shows and movies lately.

I think it can only be a good thing as perhaps the younger generation might ask us old fogies what smurfs are & get interested themselves.... 8)
