As of today, I only have 50 normal smurfs to go before I've "completed" my normal smurf collection! :woohoo: Obviously this does not include variations, Dupuis, minimodels, fakes, etc. :-D

Of-course this would all have happened a lot quicker if I hadn't got sidetracked by variations and non-pvc items, but where would the fun in that have been? :) :)

Where is the fun in a collection which can be finished?
The most beautiful thing about collecting smurfs is that it´s an eternal hobbie. You´ll never have enough!!

Getting close there, Hilary...and to think, only a year ago you didn't have very many at all :) :) I will have to look through my doubles and send you a list in case I have some you may still need :D
:dory: Staci :dory:

I've only 23 to go too Hilary - it's only taken me since 1970 to get to 23 :)
Long, long ago, deep in the forest, there was a hidden village where tiny creatures lived. They called themselves the Smurfs. They were good.

Moey, really! :winks: Lobo - I totally agree! :-D Staci, that would be cool, yes please. :) Steve - I'll race ya! Only kidding. Which ones do you still need? A lot of the ones I need are in the 10-20euro bracket which is slowing me down a little.

Postby CapriSmurf » Thu Mar 12, 2009 7:52 pm
 :-D Hilary, well done you. I'm a long long long way off, still getting sidetracked with Socles, Pencil Sharpeners, Keyrings, Soccers, promos, et al. At the moment most expensive bit is going to be display cases. There's Smurfs everywhere in our house. .. get a lot of good comments from postman and others to all the the Smurfs in the window sill. My car the 'Smurfmobile1' has smurf decals front and rear and sports a good collection of Plush Smurfs on the parcel shelf.

Way to go, Hilary!!! :D I dare say that I won't rush to complete my basics though. ;)

That's a good way of doing it. I have a feeling that the baseball Smurfette will be the last to join my collection, but we'll see. Do you look on Toys & Hobby and Smurfs' Corner as well? I was lucky and finished my Easter collection by buying from Toys & Hobby. Smurfs' Corner has a lot of the others but not so many of the rarer ones, or not for long anyway. :-D

just counting my wanted list, I have 41 normals to go.. and I've been collecting since I was a toddler in late 80's/early 90's. I casually buy them so I have no intentions to rush to complete. Actually I was excited last week when I counted that I had hit 400 pvcs (thats including the variations, which I hardly have any of anyway). The 2009 movie set pushed me over the mark to 402 and now those 4 I brought last weekend at that 80s toy shop, I'm at 406. I'm excited about that.. but I know some people have thousands, hehe..

406 is a good number Brad! :-D

I've bought alot from Sharon at Toys & Hobby, I've not looked at Marjo's site for a while, I prefer to buy from the UK as I don't get stung with ebay fees, convertion rates and shipping.

I did that too, Gerda...well, not come hell or high water but I probably picked up the last few for more than I would have normally :)

Steve, I will have a look at my doubles list for you too because I have the "common" ones in there (don't ask me which ones right now though, I haven't looked at those in a while) :D

My last one was the green/yellow surprise cone and I wanted it so badly that I ended up with two within a week :) :) :) :)

It is tempting Gerda and I've had a mini blowout today. The problem is money - there just isn't enough of it! :(

Maureen, could we get a money tree Icon or a money falling from the sky icon? It would make me feel better whenever money is low (a girl can dream)
