Hi All; Anyone intrested in buying a very rare 1983 3 piece christmas plate? This arrived today in a bubble wrap envelope. What do you think. I will first contact the seller and see what happen. I got one like it yesterday except it was one piece. I kind of laughed at the sell because I thought it was over packed. It had two boxes. The one inside was plenty big enough to safely ship a plate, but they put it in a bigger box that was huge. I guess I will never again laugh at a sell for over packing.

Hey bwalters,

Sorry to read and see your Smurf plate came broken in the mail.

My first eBay experience was something so alike of what just happen to
you but mine was a Smurf Trinket Box. It was mailed in a padded
envelope and it was like in 9 pieces when I opened it. Of course I was
furious and mad because they could have done a better packing to
protect the item. I contacted the seller and they never got back to me.
So I left them negative feedback. I did find the same Smurf Trinket Box
again on eBay and bought it and received it in great condition. Sad that
this could have been avoided if they have done a better packing with
fragile stuff like this.

Yea I know what you mean. I have contacted this seller and told them next time to put it in a box and mark it fragile. I have not heard from this sell as of yet. I recieved another fragile item yesterday that I tought was packaged too well. Double boxed lots of packing but it arrived safely. I emailed that seller to about it. I actually apoligized for laughing at her packing job. She emailed me back With pretty much an LOL. I told her to keep up the Great work. I will never say anything again about a great packing job.
This happened many years ago. I bought a couple sets of very nice hand blown glasses. I watched as the lady packed them up to mail them to my house. She stuffed them with paper. wraped them in a couple sheets of news paper. Put them in a divided box marked it fragile and shipped them. I got them all in great shape. So did all my sisters that had them shipped. I couldn't belive it. They were very frigile.

That's a shame Bill. I've had similar experiences.

I think the seller should be held acountable for the plate being broken as clearly they did not take the steps to protect it. I'm one of those that tends to over pack things as I know what can all go wrong, I would file a complaint with ebay.

just thought of something... this would make a great scam, if someone breaks it while they still have it all they have to do is stick in into an envelope like this and say it was broken in shipping. :(

Hi Gerda; I got an email from the seller with an apoligy and she said she would refund my money. Bet that doesn't happen very often.

this reminds me on an auction years ago where someone had the balloon plate broken up in peices and tried to sell it as a rare smurf montage :)

Hi Bill

I fell sorry about your plate. :( :( :(

Here the amusing side of the disaster:
I find the magic code for the sender state :

It comes from Brookhaven --> chancel the "o" and set an "e"
so you get --> brok(e) and the next part "haven"
look like "hauen" ... some thing
has the German meaning of "beat" some thing.

My this is the explanation for accepting your fate.

Hi All; Great news The seller did refund my money.
P.S. I got an email last night from the seller. She said that I had found another one to try to buy. If she found one she would buy it an send it to me. I think that's a little bit too much.
