If you think about it. Only Papa and Smurftette the smurflin's baby and grandpaw and grandmaw look diffrent. Take the glasses off Brainy and he looks like any other Smurf. Take the flower and the mirror out of Vanity's hand he looks like a Smurf. You get the idea. Those few a just identified by their clothes or something in their hands. Some of us can tell who they are by their voice's in the cartoon's also.
