I wonder why these smurfs are called sleepsmurf ( Schlafschlumpf) in german and sunbatherrs in english?
Does anyone know?

I don´t know, Lia!!! I only know that it is really dangerous to sleep while you are having sun...And it is my own experience. When you get up, you seem schlips smurf...

I wish I was able to help you out on that one,but I'm afraid I can't.
Anyway you seem to have a wonderful collection, Lia. You know, for the time being as a collector (that is in my case 25+ years), I wasn't much into fakes, but the more I see, the more I want. :help: In fact, I have started grown on my Polish (?) smurfs, incl. a Smurfette with Gown which looks similar to the ones, you posted last time. You know my dad gave me them, when I was nine years old. I might take some pics over the weekend and so that I might get back to either you or the others to help me out on them.

when I first saw the statue I thought it was made of bisque porcelain and home-made because it looks exactly like the sunbathers Stace made.

She also made me a cup with the sunbather..



I think with a bit of talent it would be fairly easy to make a sunbather on a sockel

no Maureen, no markings, it seems to be made of a sort of plaster?
I doubt if I could make it
but I like those mugs!!
