Love those plastoys, have to make a mental note to try and get a few of them sometime. :-D

Neat display. :)
This reminds me of a plush I saw at a store in the summer... it was the 20036 Hang-glider smurf, only as a plush.... noticed you don't have him on your plush page...

Nope, I don't have him, Sandra...I didn't even know that there is a hang-glider plush out :D

Today is the last day of the month, and a long awaited package arrived. :woohoo:

I have been looking for this ever first seeing it a few years ago, but it usually was too expensive for me or I got outbid in the last second.

The long wait was worth it, because not only is it in perfect condition but was also very very affordable, which also included the shipping cost :-D

That's great news. I hope you post a picture of it filled when the time comes.

On the sides & on the bottom there is a fingertip sized indentation. Any idea what for? Were the smurfs originally behind perspex which you could remove by sticking your fingers in those indentations perhaps?

HI Tojo; That is a good question. I don't have this center but I have the one that has 6 sides it has those cutouts in the plexiglas not the center itself. I have seen a couple of them years ago and don't remember a plexiglas cover on them. But then again I can't remember what happened yesterday sometimes. LOL Bill

It looks like some plexi glass belonged to it orginally. There are slits on top and the bottom where it was probably was put in.

I was wondering about that when I looked at it earlier, as the collector's center with the turntable has plexiglass on all of it's sides as well

I just checked Dyar's and Gerda's websites to see if theirs has plexi glass on the top part, but wasn't able to tell if it does or not. :-?

Hi Moey; I don't see the slits you are talking about. I don't think you could make a better pic of the center but you maybe able to get a closeup of the slits. I saw one or two of these in Chicago years ago and don't think they had a cover, but maybe the clerks took it off because they got tired of people comming to them to get one out. I don't remember the exact price. But the reg smurfs were $1.50 and I think the supers were $2.00. The gold cords were $2.50 I think. I would have bought everyone I saw if I had known what they are worth today. I did get all twelve of them. Bill

Congrats on your find - a very nice price too - good job

Exactly...these did come with a plexiglass cover just like the Super Smurf Collector's Center. :D I've got two with the plexiglass and one without. If you go to a local home repair store (Lowe's or Home Depot), you should be able to get a piece of plexi cut and fitted to the center too.
