I usually get a Metro on my way to work, and read it on the station platform whilst waiting for the train. Today I opened it and there was an article on the smurfs..a large picture of Smurfette and a photo of Nine Culliford and some artistic smurfs. I rushed back up the stairs and grabbed 3 more copies I'll scan the article and put it online for all to see later

It must have been a very nice suprise seeing the article and I have to say, the pic (I just checked Dom's link) is fabulous. I want all those whacky smurfs!

I checked through quite a few newspapers at lunchtime but couldn't find anything smurfy.

I got a copy of that last night from my friend in London, who as a non-Smurf collecter made a very good observation, which was:

"I don't understand what this article is about? Isn't it just basically "Old Cartoon introduces new female characters?"

To make a fair point, it's hardly page 3 metro stuff is it? Why did they run the story without mentioning the city celebrations? It seems a bit random!

They give these metro's out on our buses, and when i went into work on Wednesday night, i was greeted by 3 of my mates holding it up in the canteen ! Needless to say, by the time i left, more than 3 people now know i am a smurf collector ! It was a good laugh tho, and i did say to them.......Has your missus made page 3 ?

That is a lovely pic of smurfette, she always looks good in a picture i think, better than some of the ways she is portrayed in pvc's anyway !
