I agree with you entirely Dyar. Why should you, as customer, have to incurr any extra costs due to a seller who made a 'mistake' by sending the wrong smurf? It's doubly ludicrous that paypal were on his side :banghead: It doesn't make sense :-?

My most disappointing smurf? I haven't got one as I love them all even the ones with rubs etc :)

Good on ya Dyar ! You were definately right to stand up for yourself, PAYPAL and E-Bay can be really arsey at times :banghead:

:-D

I am glad you gave them a negative Feedback, Dyar, even though you knew you would get one in return. Most of the the time buyers won't do it because they are afraid of getting one back ( myself included :banghead: ). A negative feedback usually hurts a seller more than a buyer...actually I usually look how they react to a negative Feedback as this always tells a lot about them :D

I once paid around 20 dollars for shipping+western union commissions for an item I won for less than 3 dollars!

Postby Syd Smurf » Thu Dec 13, 2007 7:12 pm
You didn't buy it from America did you Paolo? :)

I have been charged 30 times in price for postage as I have for the item I won.....although to be fair I won something for $1, and the seller just overcharged me $12 to cover bubble wrap, petrol, lunch, getting her nails done....or something like that. :-?

She claimed I was another ebay looney which really annoyed me cos....well, looney is my word

It is quite sad reading about bad experiences but I do admire anyone who stands up for themselves even if it does mean getting a negative otherwise the feedback systm is a waste of time. :D

I have said my worst experience was with a smurf I bought on ebay from a member of this forum: the smurf didn´t arrive, and the seller only told me: "I don´t know what happened...I will not send more smurfs to Spain, because I have had problems before"....But I think I will have a problem soon: I won a lot with 18 smurfs last sunday (only 8 euros)...The seller is a german seller, and he wants me to pay him 26 euros only for the shipment...I have asked him three times, and he says he doesn´t know a cheaper way...I think he is a bit angry because the lot had not a high price, but I think I am not guilty...Perhaps if he had described better his article :-? :-?

  ........does the seller really need to buy a seat for the smurf on a plane to Spain Joaquin?

If he can't find a cheaper way then maybe get him sent to a friend in Germany (where we know what the actual postage would be and can argue the point) and then get it sent to Spain for the small amount it should be. Not ideal.......but better than paying anything like 26 euros.

I hope the seller can find a cheaper way of posting....like normal people can....and you get them for the correct price like you should.

I agree Joaquin!!!!

I have the German Post leaflet in my hand right now & for a packet up to 5kg (!!!) the post is €17.00 to Spain!!!!!!!

Up to a weight of 2kg with a max size of length+breadth+height=90cm (and no side longer than 60cm) then the post is €8,60 for Europe (Spain). Post can cost up to €13.50 (max 2kg) for Pluspäckchen of following sizes:-
Large: 40x25x15cm
Medium: 35x25x12cm
Small: 25x17.5x10cm

So in other words this guy wanting €26!!!!!!!!!! is an asshole!!!!!!!

Hope that helps my friend

I'd never had what I'd call a really disappointing smurf purchase until today.

I just received six smurf christmas ornaments described as in 'great condition', well they have over 50 points of paint loss between them, cracking, and badly stained & dirty whites that I can't clean.

Normally I would just throw them in my smurf bin with the others and get over it fast, but these were to be a surprise xmas present for my bro' and now there will be no surprise so I am truly gutted
Will I write the seller and complain..... ? :) :) ok, maybe... :???: ( I should have asked questions :banghead: )

That is very disappointing Sue :banghead: :banghead:

:-D

Well I feel better for offloading. Sorry guys

In fairness to the seller, she does say that 'there is no major visible damage' and when I close my eyes this is true ! :-D

Postby Guest » Wed Dec 19, 2007 8:04 am
When you close your eyes.............. :) :)

That is one way of putting it nicely Sue :D

For Sue................

When I read about your disappointment, I couldn't help but feel for you. To be perfectly honest, if I received smurfs in such a poor state, when the seller had clearly claimed the smurfs were in 'good condition', I would demand a refund and send the smurfies back! Or at the very least, demand a part-refund!
smurfieduck :-)

Carry on Smurfin' - and have a Smurfin' good day!!!!

Hi Sue, I am sorry to hear this. It is bad enough to receive any smurfs that are not in the condition they were described to be in but when they are a present that makes it even worse. :???:

Hi Sue

That is awful news and like Rach highlighted, the fact it was meant to be a gift, it just seems really heartbreaking to see them turn up like this.

I had to laugh at the "eyes closed" bit..... :) :) ......maybe you should tell that one to the seller as they obvioulsy described it with their eyes closed.

I hope you can work something out but it's a shame you couldn't give these to your bro in nice condition as smurfs are the perfect gift.....aren't they?

Dyar

Thank you all for your kind words
I have decided to put the smurfs on our tree (they can be company for the one lonely alderbrook :) ) and it doesn't matter if they get damaged anymore :-D

I know somewhere that did have 2 christmas ornaments last time I was there - if they still have them I will go buy them for bro' (we had a long smurfy chat the other day :thumbsmurf: ) and then get him a couple more each year :D :snowman: :cheerz:

I am sorry to hear about all the Smurf problems that everyone has had. The only disappointing Smurf purchase that I would complain about is when I bought a set of Malteser smurfs from some one on ebay and never received them. Sadly, I have still never bought them again. :(
