Hi at all,
As you know, I have been to Venice in the last four days, as I have no school because of the autumn holidays. It's a nice city/island that is really something special and unique with its canals, gondolas and all those small alleys. :-D And of course with its sights: churches, churches, churches, ...;) No, there were also some other nice places and buildings that I have visited... :D
Moreover there are those Murano glas things ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murano_glass )...And I have found some smurfs there! But they were quite difficult to find, I think I have seen five smurfs in maybe hundred shops (three different models)? They are expensive, too...I was lucky to get one below 15 €...It is one on a gondola, you can see him in the picture. :D

And today the letterbox had two smurfs for me: At first a "white" ina smurf, the doctor who is really painted contrasting to the "blue" inas. Besides I got the newest Schönwald sockel, the angel. Thanks to Tojo who explained me how to get in contact with Schönwald to get it directly from them per post (So I got a nice brochure about the Schwarzwald, too. :) ). :D :D :D

Welcome back Simon :D
So you enjoyed the churches in Venice then :) :) Did the boat ride to the islands make you sick? I don't know that I ever wanted to be ill, so much in my life, on that trip over :flush:

I really love those glass smurfs and the one you have bought is a beauty :-D

Hi Simon,

I'm glad you enjoyed your time in Venice, it really is a beautiful city isn't it.

I love that gondola smurf. If I ever go back there I'll have to see if I can find one - although I'd be terrified of him getting broken on the way home of course.

No, I didn't become sick. because we mostly searched for the bridges...And searched, and searched, and got lost... :banghead: :)

No, that was no problem, because the seller in the shop had wrapped the smurf really really well, so that he "survived" the flight in my hand-baggage. :) :D

Hi!
It's easy to find 2 SHOPS selling them:
- you have the Basilica of San Marco behind your shoulders: 1 is at the end of the place which is in front of the Basilica, 20 metres after a series of columns.
- 1 is: you have the Basilica of San Marco IN FRONT of you: it is on the left, 50 metres, behind the Basilica.
Bye!

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, MAX!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

Hi Simon, good to have you back. :wave2:

Even better to hear you had a great trip to Venice and that you managed to get a very beautiful Murano smurf. I searched long and hard when I was there but unfortuantely could not find them. Congratulations, he is very very nice.

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......

Hey welcome back Simon

I love the Murano Gondola smurf and hope to get one someday. I know a few people have one already and I would of too if Christy didn't handcuff me everytime I looked at her smurfs.....in the end it was a very wise move on her part but not such a great thing for me as stealing smurfs by teeth is not as subtle as light fingers......and I had to keep saying I was just hungry which meant getting fed each time even if I wasn't hungry. I put on so much weight over there......lucky I brought extra large jackets which were originally designed to hide the smurfs....not my tummy :banghead:

I love the Ina smurf too. I don't have any of the painted ones and they are not so easy for me to find as I have never actually seen one in an auction I think.....very happy for you that you found something over there as it would of been very disappointing coming back smurfless from your holiday.

I hope to get to Venice too someday.......I have been to the Venetian in Vegas......that's the closest I've got so far to Venice
