Luckily for me German isn't a problem after living here so long but I think that an English version is an extremely good idea as it will then reach a far greater audience. Most of us can understand English (the majority of children in Europe learn English as a second language) but not everyone can understand German.

I reckon that Frank will be able to sell far more copies too. I'm really looking forward to the next issue as I've been waiting for the new edition before buying one :D

Thank your for the information, Sharon! :-D

Would that mean that the DSK would be only in English, no German any more?
Of course it is much better for you English speakers out there, but I liked that it was in German...That gave Germany a special position in smurf collecting and of course as a German it is perfect for me to read. :)
Otherwise it would make smurfing much more international and easier for many people...Maybe we will soon don't have a Schlumpfburg, but a smurf castle, no Rohling, but a raw, no Testversionen any more...I love reading that in the English posts. But as long as Schönwald doesn't change into prettyforest...;) :) :D
German isn't nice to read.
What!?! That says a Holländer? ;)

Good to have you back, Simon :D

I know this is probably too expensive for Frank, but I would vote for a
bilingual DSK...German and English....

I always thought it made sense to have the catalog in German since the smurfs are released by Schleich....
but then of course....German has never been a problem for me :) :) :)

That's very kind of you to offer. I may at some point need your help.

I couldn't agree more. It would make things a lot easier for me. OR, why not the usual DSK copy plus an English copy for non-German speakers. It would be wonderful to have the DSK in a few languages: English; Spanish; Italian; dutch; Portuguese; french etc etc.

I love the German version, but I wouldn't mind, if they would either publish the book as an English version or as a bilingual version. :D

I've actually got quite used to the German one now and don't mind it at all. It's amazing how much easier it is to learn a different language when smurfs are involved :-D

Personally i`m glad it`ll be in English..as Google translator isn`t always very reliable..and throws out some bizarre translations, which are more perplexing than the German.

But,will the prices be in euros still,or will £`s and $`s be included too??

Go on!!..tell poor old Elv` it doesn`t matter :)

I think the spanish version wouldn´t be a successful edition!!!!!! :) :) :) :)

And about the prices: perhaps it would be better if they didn´t appear???????

I couldn't have said it better Sue......I learnt a lot of German by translating the DSK.

I just hope the English is well written otherwise it could be more confusing. I am sure it will be a good edition though and I can't wait to see it.....we will all have a massive discussion when it comes out I bet.

Good to hear that the DSK is still on track for being released next year. :-D

I also got used to them being in German and to be honest, it will be a little strange seeing it in English. It almost takes some of the fun out of it.

As for prices, I am guessing it will still be in Euros, I am sure changing exchange rates would cause too many problems. :D

Why is it called "common sense" when it is so rare.......
