I finally found time again to edit some more pictures and to micro check the smurfs and I came across Nanny

Since the smurfs are hand-painted, I am not sure if these differences are accidential or if any of you have noticed the same thing.

The Nanny from Germany has really thin glasses, and the Nanny from China has thick glasses

I am not sure if the differences show on the pictures below, but they are very recognizable on her when you see her in"person"

What do you think? accidental or purposeful variations?

Looking at mine on the website I can't see too much of a difference between the glasses from the pics. Are you saying the actual mold of the glasses are thicker or just painted to make them look thicker?

Actually the mold is the same and the paint is around the mold. It looks like they used different sizes of brushes, and I was wondering if it was because of the different places they were done at (unless that isn't what the different marking means)...

The mouth is thicker on one of them also

The main differences I could see with these 2 were the shades of colour (dress, scarf & hair). I tend to think it could be accidental that the glasses are different but I will pop back over to TN and take a better look someday...and maybe take that Herring Papa off your hands too

I also have a few of these, and I noticed you are correct, as well as the color differences, the chain on the glasses is also different on mine.

Hi Mo, I have just checked mine and they are all pretty much the same thickness for the black paint around the glasses.
