Hi I finally found a copy today of the new Smurf DVD (well Mrs Dyar did actually) but they opnly had one and were sold out everywhere. I was planning to save this for Rachel but Jack found it and well.....he didn't really want to give it back.

Sorry Rachel...but I will be going out tomorrow specifically to find one for you and I am hoping to find another one somewhere.....I will let you know how I go. Also, I remember you were interested too David. Do you still want one because I will buy 2 tomorrow if I find them? Just let me know when you get a chance because it might be cheaper to send them together...not sure but we could work that out once I get a copy.

Here are some pics of the DVD for anyone who hasn't seen them

Here's a close up of the wording on the back...I hope you can read what it says.

Cheers

Dyar

Hi Karen

Of course I can get you one.....I would walk over broken playsets for you

Dyar

PS - Um...do you mind if the playset is one of those playmats though....most of the others have ouchies.

Reading those decsriptions (and assuming they are accurate), I would say that there are some big differences between the books and the cartoons (I mean King Smurf and Astrosmurf, the other stories are at first glance cartoon-only). I'm not going to point them all out, but I just wanted to say that even if you have seen the cartoons, it's still more fun to read the books (they are better drawn as well :) ). And the old figures (pre-1981) are all based on the comic books anyway :-D
:sheep: Bored of normality, why not go smurf? :sheep:

Well I watched The Smurf King tonight and I have that book so I should compare them.

It's pretty interesting to see characters such as King Smurf & Prisoner (both Brainy) in the cartoons. I had no idea these smurfs were him.

Dyar

PS - I think they edited all of the swear words with the release of this edition though as I didn't hear any of them throughout the whole cartoon.

Hi Dyar,

Congrats to U for getting yourself a copy of the DVD :D it's interesting that the inside cover has the astrosmurf looking as if he's holding on to a bigger translucent ball, and trying to balance it. :lalala:

After you´ve read comic, you´ll see he wasn´t. There is Brainy prisoner in comic, but figure was made about Jokey prisoner. I haven´t seen cartoon though, but description sounds like there´s huge difference in these two versions.

I think he is just carrying Staci's fish tank...I hope he realised that the fish fell out about 50 metres back.

Hi JT,

I started reading the book tonight and I am figuring it all out that Brainy wasn't the King and that the entire 2 stories are completely different. I wonder why that is?

Anyway the book is looking pretty cool so far so I I am looking forward to finishing it off.

Cheers

Dyar
